Anyone know what the yield is for SJC in a typical year? I know it’s often lower down on some families’ lists. Are we taking probably 600 admits or is it fewer than that?

I know two boys last year rejected from SJC. One went to Walls and the other to GZ. Shocked their Mom didn't post on DCUM about their rejection! Ha!

no, that Walls kid was admitted to SJC. I know the kid.

Um so that is my kid who was rejected and is now at Walls. Me thinks you don't know all the kids.

This can't be real.

Was it 1st choice? Did they have solid essays that said why SJC? Any ideas on why they said no?

I'd be curious how many denials were also Catholic (whether private or public school kid).

if they don't make Scholars they don't get a spot in the regular academic program? Seems harsh.

no, they'll accept them and put them in all honors classes.

I was chatting with an admissions member at a different school who said that high stats is not the only thing they are looking for - want to make sure they are actually interested and not just applying to collect acceptances.

I just checked the portal/checklist and nothing there. I guess that is good news. We are expecting a scholarship.

Sorry to hear that. Just curious as to what other factors they are looking at that supersedes these data points.
