He wasn’t retweeting random rumors, he was retweeting a news article that he didnot know to be incorrect at the time. If Youngkin wants to take issue with the reporter who wrote the article, that is one thing. But to make personal attacks on a kid just for retweeting is beneath anyone with a sense of common decency. |
So creepy. GOP never misses the opportunity to act like DBs. |
The author of that false news story needs to apologize to the Youngkins. As do all of you who jumped on your usual outrage bandwagon before knowing all the facts. Do you ever learn? |
The author reached out to Youngkin’s office for comment two weeks before the article ran, but Youngkin decided to ignore him. That is on Youngkin. |
No kidding. It’s stalker-level creepy. |
The only correction was that the historian’s former office is not being used as a family room. It doesn’t appear that anyone has disputed the rest of the story on behalf of Youngkin. The publication that printed the article is responsible for verifying information they report. A private citizen has no obligation to fact check news articles before commenting on them. |
One small part of the story was false. The bulk of it has not been disputed. |
I imagine Youngkin was *just a little bit busy* at that time.
|
They cyberstalked and doxxed the kid. Disgusting and creepy. |
If his press team can’t find time in two weeks to respond to a news inquiry that is supposedly based on false information, that is an issue of their competence to do the job and someone should be fired over it. If that doesn’t happen, I think that’s a sign the story was actually right but since the redecorating hadn’t actually happened yet, Youngkin called it off and not is trying to pretend it was never the plan. |
But not too busy to stalk Twitter and then attack constituents? |
WTH? Nobody cyberstalked or doxxed. The kid has public twitter account in his own name. You need to learn what cyberstalking and doxxing is. Reply to a tweet is neither. |
As is the GOP |
DP. Whatever label you want to put on it, mining a minor’s social media account to find an old photo you can used to try to malign them is creepy and inappropriate. I would expect a governor to have better judgment than that, but in Youngkin’s case, apparently I would be wrong. |
The Democrats are committed to winning Twitter, if not elections. |
