Glorious video of unmasked Youngkin being yelled at by constituent in grocery store

Did you get childhood vaccinations? You're a sheep.
Do you wear a seatbelt when you drive? Why? You're a sheep.
Do you pay your taxes? You do? Sheep.
Do you cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze/cough? Sheep.
Do you complain when your doctor/dentist/surgeon wears a mask during a medical procedure? You don't? Sheep.

See. You're a sheep too. BAAAAAAAA.

“The City of Alexandria and the Alexandria Health Department (AHD) strongly urge everyone help end the pandemic by wearing a mask over both your nose and mouth, washing your hands frequently, and getting vaccinated. Approximately 1 in 20 Alexandrians who have tested positive for COVID-19 have required hospitalization, so without these critical steps, additional lives may be at risk. Your neighbors and loved ones are counting on you to stop the spread of COVID-19.”

Alexandria is currently is “high transmission” red zone. In fact, it’s more than 5x over the lower limit of high transmission.
https://www.alexandriava.gov/performance/info/dashboard.aspx?id=114883

Safeway policy is to require masks for everyone in areas of high transmission.

Screw Youngkin. Like Boris Johnson, he’s ignoring the rules the rest of us follow. Asshole.

How will "wearing a mask" help end the pandemic? It may slow the rate of transmission but it plays no other role.

Why don't you ask your local health care workers that question?

No one said masking is forever. You are being way overly dramatic.

I am sure you anti-maskers don't wear seatbelts either, right?

And slowing transmission reduces variants. The more people unmask, the longer we need to mask.

Finally an intelligent understanding on why masking is important!

My children lost over a year in school due to covid. I spent at least 1 year entirely isolating from the outside world and then many months to now being cautious and calculated about my interactions with the public. Why in the hell would I have done any of that to just get covid now because people want to throw a middle finger to science and refuse to vax, boost and/or wear a mask due to personal freedom bs?

Wear your mask. No one says you can’t. That isn’t what is happening. But you shouldn’t get to tell me that I have to wear a mask forever. No one has researched the affect of masks long term on asthmatics. But I can tell you my sons asthma was gone before the Covid masks. No meds or episodes for two years. Now he takes maintenance again twice a day. So your personal issues are guiding your choices and mine are guiding mine. Yours are not more important to me than mine. That is the deal.

I have asthma and wearing a mask has had absolutely no effect. Same with my brother who has asthma.

I'm glad for you. What is your job. A lot of us with white collar work have been able to stay home or go to an office and remove the masks when we are alone. Not kids in school. Mask is on all day except for 15 or so minutes during lunch. And my kids were lucky enough to have a school that opened for most of last year. So he has been wearing a mask 8 hours for about 8-9 months of the last 15. Can you really say that about yourself and your brother. UNLESS you are a teacher or work in retail, I doubt it. Even doctors go into their offices and remove the masks for a time. NOT THE KIDS. It is criminal.

The only people being dramatic are the people obsessed with what other people are doing, specifically not wearing a mask in arbitrary social situations.

I don't care what you do. There is no mask mandate in Alexandria.

Youngkin was virtual signaling to the folks who elected him. Since he got less than 25% of the vote in Alexandria, he should have anticipated that some residents there might be offended by him not wearing a mask.

Actually, the masked woman was the one doing the virtue signaling.
Why should she worry about him wearing a mask when she is 10 feet away and is wearing one herself?

I disagree. Politicians don't do anything casually and what they wear at public events is often calculated to send a message (e.g., the disarming "dad" vest he campaigned in). Just a few months ago, Youngkin was wearing a mask at a public event (see link below). To not wear one now is signaling something--and in the Republican world, NOT wearing a mask is a symbol of defiance and "freedom."

Ya'll are so rude. You disparage DC and Montgomery County for still having in-restaurant mask mandates and vaccination requirements but your Governor walks into a grocery store with no mask when you no-good-and-well yours is sitting on your chin and suddenly its a problem?

I just finished my 10 day cdc masking time and unless required I will never wear a mask again. I did my part and so did my kids and we all got it despite masks and vaccines. Moving on without guilt or remorse. Done and done. Masks have to go.

My family is all vaccinated, boosted, everything. Everyone but me just got Covid and got over it.

We are done with this. Our entire society doesn't revolve around the preferences of a vocal fringe group that is still terrified of Covid.

DP-Good grief-you act like you’re the only parent in the world. I also have a kid that isn’t eligible to be vaccinated and it makes no difference in our lives. I’m religious about yearly flu shots, but really, a virus that statistically presents virtually no danger to them? The burden of mitigating risk for grown adults who can make their own healthcare choices should not fall on children, full stop.

That excuse flies out the window at end of February and even then I can almost guarantee you'll be one of those 'silent objector' parents who still haven't vaccinated their kids. Less than 25% of children under the age of 11 are vaccinated in the U.S. By choice. Because of their parents.

Why wouldn’t I vaccinate my kid at first chance? My county has the highest vaccination rate
in the country. If my kid get’s covid then our whole preschool class may have to stay home. That is a problem that is completely preventable as long as other members of the community work together. This is why you are acting like a selfish jerk to never wear a mask. Which is a bigger burden on the community, wearing a mask in the grocery store and schools or keeping an entire preschool class home for a week with no warning?

“no-good-and-well” is not a thing.
