Foods that you strongly dislike, if there are any?

My hates all revolve around texture. I don't like anything slimy, gelatinous, or that seems like it could have been pre-digested (looking at you, rice pudding). I need to chew my food. Jello, oysters, bananas, are all out.

Fresh papaya. Cannot deal.

Beside that, I have major issues with food purity and "quality" - I do not do anything overly processed, fake cheese, fake meat, etc.

kombu
bananas (and anything even slightly banana flavored - natural or artificial)
persimmon
fennel (I can get through it if I need to be polite, but I don't enjoy it)
gefilte fish (in fairness, I've never been able to even bring myself to try it, maybe I would like it if I did)

There are several foods I dislike and wouldn’t choose (banana, any organ meats, smoked things) but the one thing I truly cannot tolerate is raw tomato. The flavor tastes like vomit to me and the gelatinous gooey innards don’t help.

Okra. It is a favorite in my culture (Bengali) but yuck. The texture and the strong flavor overwhelm everything else.

I can feel it damaging my cells. I could never be vegan. I am mostly vegetarian and have not found a vegetable or fruit I don’t love.

It's not that hard to be vegan. There's no need or reason to eat any of that garbage they market to vegans, though. It's not even good for you, no idea why anyone falls for it.

--vegan for health reasons (going on yr 6)

Also to answer the question: Cilantro. Durian. Will eat anything else (vegan). Not fond of sweet potatoes or parsnips, but will eat if served. Prior to going vegan, did not like tripe or any intestine type meat. Blech.

Olives green and black. I hate the taste on their own and they ruin any dish that has them as an ingredient.

Bananas as an ingredient, no banana bread, muffins or banana cream pie. I can and will eat bananas on their own

Sushi is not my favorite but I will eat it. I just don't get what is supposed to be so delicious or wonderful about it.

I hope for your sake you never have any type of oral surgery or need to have your jaw wired, you are gonna be hating it!

Lima beans. Not a fan of kidney beans either. Love other beans, but these are just the worst for me. I guess fava beans also, which seem like just lima beans on steroids.

Chicken that has been microwaved.

Kidney.

Cool Whip (gives me headaches and makes me nauseated)

That might be it, honestly. I like most foods so long as they are appropriately cooked.

Tuna fish from a can. The smell - I cannot be within range

Spaghetti with marinara sauce. Even the thought makes me gag. Pasta in general.

I’m surprised by the variability in answers!

I can’t stand Jello, processes american Cheese, marshmallows, and mayo. I think it’s the texture and for some of these, the thought of what these things are made of that disgusts me.

Agree. They are so disgusting. Can't even pick them out of things because the taste lingers. SHUDDER.

Goat/sheep cheese, lamb, cilantro…because they all taste gross

How do you feel about pickled stuff? Because this is exactly my brother in law’s list. Also no dill.
