What a surprise. Yet another Baby Boomer (Putin) ruining the world. Can we just kick out and get rid of all boomers running countries in the world? They are the worst generation of leaders ever. No good options for Ukraine. But NATO with heavy US involvement should send troops and a substantial air force to Romania and other neighboring NATO countries to try to contain this at the Ukraine.

Sure there is, it's called the Salvador Option. We pick a side in Ukraine, flood those rebels with a guaranteed stream of weapons and training, and let them loose on Russian soldiers and their pro-Russian proxies in Ukraine. These rebels will commit horrific war crimes against Russia over years, while Americans forget and turns their attention to some other topic that's the flavor of the week.

Why does that seem odd? It makes complete sense. Trump was not a threat.

That makes ZERO sense. None.

If Trump was no threat, Putin should’ve been running rampant through Ukraine and possibly other places, knowing that he’d be unchallenged in doing so since “he had his puppet in the whitehouse”.

That’s what you do if you’re a Putin. You make your moves when you know you won’t be challenged. Because that’s the path of least resistance. Waiting - as you suggest - until you have a perceived threat in your opposition would be stupid. Wouldn’t you rather time your invasion for when you won’t experience any pushback?

Your answer is cognitively implausible. Putin is a lot of things, but stupid isn’t one of them. He, like all bullies, will always choose a time of vulnerability to strike. It is completely absurd to imagine that he’d wait until the times when his chief adversary is stronger to make a move.

The U.S. is rising? How so?

Every way that you can think of. If we could screw it up we would but the momentum is taking us. Our economy is pulling away from most of the world. Our culture is overtaking even China in ways that are upsetting to them. Militarily the thought always was China would catch up. If you look at the recent purported US breakthrough in hypersonics and in other areas, it creates real problems for China. The breakthrough is battery technology is happening here. Most tech breakthroughs are happening here. And we are growing. The moment to try to screw with us is now not 20 years from now. That is what makes it a scary place.
