Yes, I have 3 year old twins and they will eat this. There might be one component they want less of (probably the side salad is ambitious) but the rest is fine. For sushi we do non-raw options too so they'll have some seaweed salad, shrimp shumai, and chicken yakitori as options. |

If I had dill I would make borscht. Here is my recipe from memory;
1-2 big grated beets 1 big graded carrot 1 grated onion 1/2 head grated cabbage, preferably red, or a cup of sauerkraut or jarred red cwbbage — tablespoon tomato paste — couple tablespoons vinegar but skip it if you used sauerkraut — tablespoon sugar — broth — few cups or whatever you need to make a nice soup with as much broth as you like (I use veggie better than bullion but beef broth is great) Cook for a few hours until everything is soft Top with chopped dill or chopped flat leaf Parsley and a spoonful of sour cream So good. Craving it now…. |
I haven’t posted my meal plan, but my 16 yo eats any and everything and has since he was a toddler. He was never afraid to try new foods and we didn’t serve him “kid foods” that were different from what we were eating. Not all kids are picky eaters. |
+1. Your kid is picky. |
OK, this sounds amazing. |
Right whether you kids will eat it is irrelevant to my family. |
I’m the PP that brought this up. I’m pretty sure my kid and most kids I know wouldn’t like a Swiss chard tart, leeks or asparagus. But she does eat broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini , sweet potato, which is why I wouldn’t consider her picky. |
| Above PP again. I guess I was asking about kids because a lot of these suggestions sound like things a couple of adults are eating. Not a busy family with elem age kids. Maybe I’m wrong though and need to introduce my kid to more foods. |

What I’m planning for this week:
-Two jars of Rao’s with browned ground beef for spaghetti -Leftover sauce made into lasagna -Broiled fish with seasoning sprinkled on top with fruit/veg and rice -green curry shrimp made from a simmer sauce for half the family, hamburgers for the other half -takeout on fridays |
https://www.budgetbytes.com/one-pan-roasted-kielbasa-cabbage-dinner/ The mustard dressing is amazing. I serve it on the side because my kids eat it without the dressing. |

Cheat manti (pasta, garlicky yogurt, and a beef tomato sauce) with steamed broccoli (eat over two days)
Fava beans and dill pilaf with a tomato/onion/cumin salad Roasted chicken thighs with dijon mustard sauce and tabbouleh Chicken fajitas Saturday takeout |
Thanks — can’t wait to try these! |
Yes, my 5 year old would eat all this. My 40-something husband, however! |
I'm the op and I think my kid would be down for everything but the chard tart. I give everything a simple name so the name doesn't put her off but she likes flavor. And thanks everyone for the suggestions! |

Kids eat what their parents eat. My kids have been eating sprouts and asparagus since they were toddlers.
My middle kid has been requesting bouillibase for her bady for the last 4 years. My oldest (13) routinely eats raw oysters. My youngets gets peel and eat shrimp anytime we go out and its on the menu. There are no 'adults only' foods. Just kids whose parents let them down. |
