I haven't left my house in 12 days...literally.

OP isn’t afraid of being out. She just didn’t have a need to in cold temperatures.

While I understand the arguments about leaving the house, I don’t think it is always necessary for everybody.

It doesn’t sound like OP turned anything down or refused to go out. There just wasn’t a pressing need. It wasn’t an intentional avoidance

Candidly, this is the silver lining of the pandemic for me: working from home, and not having to run around on the weekends.

FTR, I'm not sick. I'm not depressed.

I spent today (Saturday) binge watching a couple shows while doing some housework here and there.

Anyone else, or am I a freak?

I don’t know... do you want to come over to my apartment and keep me company? Or I could keep you company.

Me too.

I hear you.

Only difference for me is that I like solitary walks and especially in cold, sunny weather.

I had a business trip this week. So got out of the house for that. Otherwise I’d be right there with you OP

You must get more sunlight and more exercise in the fresh air.

This is for your long-term health, OP. I'm not saying to socialize or go where the people are, if that's not your thing. But sunlight makes your body manufacture vitamin D and you don't get enough of it, you will develop osteoporosis and have a very poor quality of life as you get older. Same thing for your cardiac and pulmonary health.

Unless you have a solarium, complete home gym, and open all your windows every day, this is NOT healthy.

I go that long. No big deal.

You definitely are depressed. You haven't even gone outdoors, for a walk? Gotten some vitamin D? Interacted with humans you don't live with? Like mild eye contact? You had no joy or interest in leaving your home? That's not normal, or remotely healthy.

Hell I'm an introvert, and the last time I time I stayed totally and completely home bound, was for 48 hours when I had the flu 7 years ago.

Seriously? It is too f u c k ING cold to just go for a walk right now and the last few weeks. Heck I am a dc native and I only go to and from work and I dread going to work because I hate my fat boss. If it weren't for that I would stay home 24.7 this month. Summer is different

Don't listen to the naysayers, OP. It sounds like you had a vacation and now youre having a variation on a staycation. As long as you are happy and enjoying time with your family (and it sounds like you have a way to exercise), who cares what other people think! Enjoy!

Oh for crying out loud, it's twelve days, not two years. Calm the f down.

Purchase some slim fast and diet pills and leave them on fat bosses desk, anonymously. That will put fatty in their place.

I did that multiple times during the pandemic. My kids are in college and I’m divorced.

I have a Peloton so I do that 2x a week and yoga 2x a week plus light weights.

My best friend will come over and drink wine.

My ex had to come over to get a tool to use and I hadn’t gotten the mail in a week. Whoops!

After that I force myself to do 2 walks outside for 30 minutes for vitamin D.

I have misfit food delivered weekly. I don’t eat a lot of meat but I have enough in the freezer.

Actually, in our region, in the dead of winter, going outside at any time of day will not give you any vitamin d. in this area you only get vitamin d from the sun from March to November. I know it sounds weird but I had vitamin d deficiency and I researched this. I have to take pills year round.

From spring through fall, I'm definitely outside (walking the dog, running, etc.). But during the coldest days of the winter, when it's below freezing, I rarely go out. And my mental health is fine.

My kids and I went for a hike in New England yesterday. 17 degrees Fahrenheit, but 8 with windchill. We had a blast. Proper layers make the cold easy.

I could easily do that. During winter break we didn't get out much. I was perfectly happy.
