I’m driving across the border tomorrow and will be back on Wednesday (23rd) of next week.

For the love of god, tell the ILs you’re staying in Canada until Saturday…CHANGE OF PLANS!!! SO SORRY!

“No” is a complete sentence. “No and we don’t socialize with unvaccinated adults right now” is an honest one.

In fact, Thanksgiving is the ONE day out of the entire year devoted to family. Any other days in the calendar are flexible. Actually, it sounds like your spouse is setting you up as basically cannon fodder for refusing to participate and also not warning you that you are a target.

Ditto. DH sounds utterly useless and insensitive. He needs to be the one to run interference for you with his family. WTF. And why on earth would you feel the need to apologize that you find what your kid around a bunch of unvaccinated drunks?

OP here.

My DH is flying home early on Wednesday and said he will make it very clear to his parents that we are staying home and having our own meal! He said he just wants to stay home and relax after his no to long work trip. This is an excellent outcome - thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Hi OP, I just looked through family relationships hunting for your post, curious if there was an update. I'm glad to see it! And glad you will be with your DH. Hope it all goes well and your inlays don't show up uninvited!
