That’s why the Rs want vouchers. They want to subsidize their kids who are already in private schools. |
The issue is only with what is being taught, but also how work is being evaluated. There are teachers in NoVa who Tweet regularly about how they are striving to be "equitable graders," which suggests they are not grading objectively but instead based on their understanding of a student's race and SES. |

Do you mean teachers who give credits for progress (test corrections)? |
Fortunate that your children receive at private school what you cannot provide. When limited in intelligence, style, manners, and taste yourself, it makes sense to have your betters educate your poor children. |
Then why debase your vote on a sleazy lawyer, political hack, and Clinton retread like McAuliffe. Is it age related dementia or a drug addiction issue? |
One of my clients is s teacher in APS. It took her four tried to get a teacher certification and was given a job in Arlington County at the lowest performing school. She had three babies in three years and most of her teaching career has been on maternity leave. She natters on about equitable grading. I once asked what happens if the chikdren don’t learn to read snd write and she responded that they would only be cleaning houses do it didn’t matter. |
The most common way CRT is showing up in K-12 is the teaching of anti-racism which is more often than not, racism. And the most common way anti-racism it taught it with books like Stamped by Kendi. Kendi advocates for discrimination against whites and attempts to indoctrinate kids with this belief in his book. His coauthor admitted this in an interview with Trevor Noah last year. |
It’s not about them, it’s about the GOP billionaires’ agenda to destroy public schools to cut taxes on the rich. The parents screaming are the marks— the fools who don’t know they’re being taken by Koch and Murdoch while their own kids get hurt. The Republican Party is built on lies. |
So now we are calling anti-racism “CRT”? Along with anti-bias training (from another post)? These have been around for a while now - why the new label? Can you provide examples of how Kendi advocates for “discrimination against whites”? Because that’s different than “antiracist discrimination”. How should we talk about racism and biases? What are the acceptable ways? |
Concern troll score: 6 I think it’s grosser you use phrases like “woke brigade.” You sound like a deplorable. |
It’s fascinating that you think your middle school students were reliable reporters and take everything they say as fact when in fact it’s far more likely you trained them to take offense or see bias is every little thing that didn’t validate what you indoctrinated them with at home. Spare me your talk about “morals” though. You don’t sound like a very moral person. |
For years parents complained teachers taught to the test. Please show me where in the SOLs there is any mention of CRT or “anti-racism.’l And stop with the nonsense that anti-racism is in fact racism. That’s some Orwellian doublespeak right there. I am fully cognizant of the fascist impulses of right-wingers, but keep that stuff out of our schools. The irony here is palpable. |
Most public schools are more rigorous than most private schools. Private schools generally have less qualified teachers. And a larger number of them teach nonsense like man and dinosaurs walked the earth at the same time and the earth is only 7,000 years old. |
Probably because private schools are even deeper into this CRT thing. https://www.foxnews.com/media/critical-race-theory-private-schools |
OMG, stop with this nonsense. You are in the minority with your way of thinking regarding the schools and that is why you lost. AGAIN, for the 1000th time, it does not matter whether CRT is referred to specifically anywhere. People see through what school boards thought was a sly angle to push the agenda regardless of what you call it. Have you not read these boards. These are not right-wingers upset with the school "stuff" being taught. |
