Many, many mid-career female execs have the long straight blonde hairdo. I feel there used to be more variety before Brady Bunch straight hair came back in style. |
| No. I gotta be me. |
My hair is not stupid, in fact my long hair gives me supernatural powers of intuition and discernment. |
Short hair makes you look older and if you don't have a pretty face, it showcases it. |
Sorry, it's just my face. Afraid you'll have to live with it. Imagine being a man and just getting to go around with an easy haircut without being told it's failing to hide your middle aged face. |
| I see many, many European women, lots older and younger, with amazing short hair. I don’t know if American stylists don’t know how to do short hair right or what would explain this difference. |
| I work in crop science/production agriculture and have waist length hair. I wear it in a braid when I’m in the field and a twist with pins in the office. |
| Ew no. |
This. A lot of men look better with shoulder length hair as well. |
| No. I love my long hair, after being made to cut my hair a lot of the time as a child. I work in a male dominated industry and have started to not GAF about having long hair, carrying a pink notebook to meetings, etc. life is too short. |

Depends what you mean by short. Mine looks best around shoulder length or a little longer. I think the most universally flattering is between chin length and bra strap length. Longer doesn't look great on most people and it's hard to make it look professional. Of course, if you're great at your job, you can get away with pretty much anything, plus it also depends on what your job is, and it's also okay just to make a personal decision that you really don't care that much what people thing.
But -- if you're Kristi Noem, please get a haircut. You look ridiculous and everyone knows you're spending time refreshing your curls rather than attending to the very serious job you have. |
I'm European and have had very short hair many times in my life. I get bored easily and it's just hair, not my entire identity so sometimes I cut it super short and sometimes I grow it out to half my back. I can very confidently say that raggidy, unhealthy, fried-up long hair is also not attractive on anyone. I'm so glad I'm not inhibited by some ridiculous US beauty standard. |
This this THIS |
I love this French actress’ short hair. You definitely need the right shaped face and neck and a really good stylist for best results, though. Give me this over those horrible Utah curl any day. |
| If are gray, it’s ok to go short. It’s age appropriate. Not necessarily attractive but flattering. |
