DP. Hunter Biden aside, are you actually saying the Loudoun County Schools sexual assault is a "crazy conspiracy"? I'd love to hear your outrage if this attack had happened to your daughter. |
The claim that there was a cover up is certainty a crazy conspiracy being perpetuated by right wing media. |
Well, the school superintendent said at a recorded public school board meeting that he knew of no assaults in bathrooms, when the attack in question took place just one or two months before. He was surely knew about it by virtue of his position. The source below is right wing media NY Post, but the recording of the meeting where he said this is freely available, and is why parents have a basis for asking for the supperintendent's resignation.. https://nypost.com/2021/10/13/parents-demand-superintendent-be-fired-for-alleged-sex-assault-cover-up/ |
Left wing: pretty much everything except the below
Center: WSJ Right wing: Fox |
The school reported it to police the same day. That is not a cover up. |
Police records are sealed because the perpetrator is a minor. The cover up was lying at the school board meeting at which neither members nor parents would have been aware of the incident because of the minor status. The superintendent said publicly there had been no assaults in the bathroom when he knew otherwise. Had he admitted at least one assault had taken place, it would have colored the discussion and decision making at the meeting on the transgender bathroom policy. |
Have you read the details? It certainly sounds like there was very much a cover up - and the alleged rapist was quietly transferred to another school. |
Both rated center-left as opposed to the most popular and most trusted news sites used by conservatives, for example: FOX News - right, NOT center-right OAN - extreme-right, questionable Newsmax - extreme-right, questionable Breitbart - extreme-right, questionable Western Journal - extreme-right, questionable Federalist - extreme-right, questionable Judical Watch - extreme-right, questionable Gateway Pundit - extreme-right, questionable Et cetera et cetera et cetera Yet they want everyone to believe that Washington Post and NYT are extreme-left and untrustworthy when their own news sources are far more extreme, questionable, and less trustworthy |
You are arguing against points that no one is making. |
You have a different definition of "cover-up" than i do. The principal reported the allegation to police the same day it happened. They were legally not allowed to go tell the public about it, and the police told them not to do their own investigation. Ironically, it seems that the school transfer and lack of discipline for the alleged perpetrator was because the school was following the revised Title IX guidelines issued by the Trump administration, which doesn't permit a school to impose discipline until after a full investigation and hearing, which couldn't be done because of the ongoing criminal investigation. It seems like the school did exactly what it was supposed to do. So, getting back to the original topic, that's the reason this isn't in the NYTimes or WaPo; the right wing media has made this a huge story in the right wing bubble by falsely labeling it a "cover up," because it fits their narrative. Normal media outlets have no obligation to go around repeating the lies and distortions coming out of Fox News, the Daily Caller, etc. That doesn't make them left wing. It just means they aren't right wing. |
NP here: Kids are sexually assaulted everyday in American schools. Every. Damn. Day. The only reason you're bringing up this story is because you're salivating at the opportunity at bashing trans people. That's it. Stop acting like a gross, demented bully. You're obsessed with trans people - it's creepy AF. You have a weird twisted fetish about them. I truly hope that the victims of sexual assaults in American schools are able to heal. And whoever the perpetrators are, regardless of their traits, I hope they are brought to justice. But stop using this case as a political weapon, while you ignore the rest of American kids who are assaulted everyday on campus. Because we see what kind of sick person you are. |
Which LW news, specifically? WaPo is only slightly left of center. Are they biased? Sure. But a lot of things they report that the right whines about as "so biased and manipulative" is in fact spot on, the right wing just doesn't like hearing it. And since they don't like hearing it they scream "fake news" and whine that it's manipulative when they aren't nearly as much the problem as the right is. |
I am a center left independent (not right wing) who stopped reading WaPo halfway through the Trump administration. Too many click-baity headlines. Now I primarily read WSJ and the economist. I don't disagree with your point that they arent as manipulative as most of the right wing new sources; however, it is no longer regularly providing points of view that I value in news sources. |
