Primping for DH- is this abnormal??

Usually this is just brushing hair, touching up makeup and maybe changing into something a little more comfortable but more revealing than my daytime outfit (short shorts, cropped tank, low cut v neck etc). I do not feel any pressure or expectations from DH regarding any of this.

Anyway, I was talking to a few friends and it was brought up that I did this. They pressed for details and thought the whole thing was totally weird and silly, especially considering that DH sees me au natural at night and in the morning. I didn’t think this was a strange thing to do but my friends completely roasted me. What do you think dcum? Do you do this? Is this strange?

This post was written by a man. Women do not talk about clothing like this.

Yeah that bolded section is sus. "Just a married mom of three little kids taking a quick 2 minutes to put on my booty shorts and cropped tank top before DH gets home, what's weird about that?"

Haha I swear, I really am a woman. I guess that was a weird way to phrase it but I was trying to explain that I put on something comfortable but not frumpy/a little sexy. And I really do wear short shorts and crop tops around the house.

I’m 32 and I do the same thing. Most of my friends think it’s weird but I like it. I like feeling desired and sexy for him. I like looking presentable and feel like I just have a better day when I’m a little put together. I spend 1-2 times a week getting ready for the D time. I usually will do body scrub, lotion, sexy lingerie, etc. Most of my friends think I’m crazy but it makes me feel sexy and my husband loves it.

I brush my hair and teeth. The short shorts and crop top sound like you are trying too hard.

This is a thread by and for teen boys or men who never made it out of the basement.

OP here. Yes, it’s not that I always have to look perfect, just that I enjoy looking good. He sees me in sweats and an old t often enough so I like to make an effort, also.

Definitely a man.

This is part of the reason why men cheat. It’s so absurd to other women that a woman wants to look nice for her husband. Maybe if you spent time doing this, your husband wouldn’t be looking for someone who does.

Keep doing you, OP. I do this too. I like to look for my husband. I like to make the effort to look nice and sexy for him, and he does the same for me. Note everyone that gets married has to look like crap all of the time.

Guy here. I would love it if my wife would do it for me. Sigh!

Should the woman cheat?? Because the DH is certainly NOT primping.

No. I’m a woman. I call it getting ready for some D time. Sorry if that offends you. Maybe worry less about what I call my sex time and more about satisfying your man. No wonder so many people on here are in sexless and miserable marriages.

I try to be conscious of doing this. I forget a fair amount but of course I want to look nice for my husband. I don’t wear sexy clothes around the kids though.

PP here. I never said they should. Many women start to wonder or think about it if their husband starts to not care about his appearance. We all value partners who take care of themselves. Taking care of yourself for your spouse is not weird. I wouldn’t be okay with my husband kefir he himself go. Never stop dating your partner.

There's a whole lot of gray between letting yourself go and throwing on booty shorts and a low cut top before DH comes home

OP. Just to be clear, I do this and didn’t think it was odd until my friends called me out saying it was weird. I absolutely do not think every woman should be doing this or that a woman can’t be sexy and attractive without primping.

ROTFL! I do this too.
I’m 56 and empty nester; married almost 30 years.
I figure, I’m always try to present my best for others, why not for my DH.

My memory fails me, but I am sure that I wasn't doing it when our kids were young. lol
