Lololololol

Why are you matching people from the other side of the country on a dating app? Why can't you meet people, you know, where you live?

Then again I'm getting older almost 40.

This, I highly highly doubt he is flying in just to meet OP.

Unless he works for an airline. Then hopping on a flight across country is NBD.

Flying isn't that hard, or expensive. I think I paid $100-200 RT for recent flights to Florida and Texas.

Flying cross country is much more expensive than flying to Florida or Texas. How do you not know that?

I flew to Vegas for about $250 not long ago. While not technically coast-to-coast, from LAS you can drive to the ocean in about 4 hours. Domestic flying isn't expensive.

BWI to Orlando is $21 sometimes. BWI to Los Angeles is $38. Flying is often cheaper than renting a car/taking a taxi. But rape is only punishable by 6 months of prison in California, and consequently, a much higher percentage thinks it's okay there. Some outright say "with some women it would be worth it".

You should meet him IF you’re comfortable doing so. Trust your gut. If you meet, it should be in a public setting only. You don’t share cars, you don’t put him up for the weekend. A decent guy would understand this.

Did anything result besides sex?

It could have resulted in something. For example, I had been texting and phoning with her for 6 months before I visited (she invited me, I was planning to stay in a hotel but she wanted me with her). I liked her but she had one major problem--she was crazy.

The crazier the woman, the better the sex......

Yeah, this would set off all of my "ew you so desperate" flags IMMEDIATELY. No person of value flies across the country for a first date with someone they haven't met.

100%. OP you must at some level understand this

You HAVE TO be a rule follower that loves reading instructions and prefers a la carte normalcies. Otherwise, you'll get hit with a $100 surprise fee. If *AND ONLY IF*, you read all 12 rules, spirit air from BWI has these prices one-way. The pitch is ~ 28" so make sure you have a short wife/child to diagonally encroach your leg stretch into. Likely even cheaper in person and you have to fly on on-peak times like Wednesday. https://www.spirit.com/book/flights?bookingType=flight&orgCode=6826515426&adt=1&chd=0&inf=0&tripType=oneWay&from=BWI&to=OAK&departDate=10%2F20%2F2021. Under no circumstance should you throw off their fuel estimates or you'll be HEAVILY fined by surprise. Other than that, if you are eco-conscious (refill your own water before the flight, pack small and light <40lbs) you may find less ear-popping/turbulence/creepy groping on Spirit. https://www.spirit.com/spirit-101

OP we need way more info:

-how did you meet someone across the country?
-have you seen his face on a video call?
-is he flying just to see you?
-where is he staying?

DP but it does sometimes. My "result" is in the other room sleeping right now. We've lived together since 2014.

JFC.

Never fly Spirit Airlines. Unless you want uncomfortable tiny seats, a 90% chance of a delay, and a 99% chance of being involved in a passenger fist fight.

OP here. I declined meeting him so soon and he has ghosted me since then which was since this past thursday. He actually made it out to NYC to visit a cousin so he said and wanted to make a layover here in DC. I declined. I don't know if I made the right choice and now feel ghosted.

So the scenario wasn't at all like you made it seem. He was going to be on the east coast anyway and instead of dragging out a long texting relationship he decided to meet you during a layover, probably could have done coffee or lunch.

Far different from what you made it seem like some guy who wanted to spend the entire weekend with you . Drama city.

. Flying is a hassle with covid, security checks, sitting next to an encroaching, stinky, person for 5 hours. Dc to NYC is a normal thing and there a lot of places you could have met him at near Dulles. He made the right choice by moving on, but you may have dodged a bullet if he was a pornoholic from Cali.

He said he was going to be on the east coast anyway after I made the post. He first talked about just coming out here to see me. He said the layover was due to having a relative here but then he changed plans after I declined and went back home. He was also going to be here over night not in the daytime.
