No one gets cut they just don’t play, now the trick is how many thought regardless of where a person comes from you compete. All I hear is entitlement, and that’s what this WHOLE thing was about to the core.

Does anyone know which school board members backed Reid in this? I’m ready to write letters!

Exactly this.

If the district can't manage a transparent investigation of a football transfer controversy, how can they possibly be trusted to handle something that really matters like boundary review?

Nope, take your great falls boundary nonsense to the boundary thread.

I agree. I am also concerned about bias in the boundary review process, and Reid has shown that she is biased and does what she wants when it suits her agenda.
Honestly, FFx is getting exactly what they voted for. You want progressive, you want woke, well this it. Just don’t F w/football. Ok, the agenda will press everywhere else.

I didn't vote for this. How do we undo this mess? What exactly do we need to do to get reasonable people into admin positions in FCPS (i.e., people who don't want to indoctrinate your kid into thinking they are racist and who don't call people racist who are just standing up for fairness)?

Well, if you voted the democrat sample ballpt, you did vote for this.

But that is another discussion thread

Oh for goodness, sake. GET BETTER CANDIDATES, NEXT TIME!

I, for one, did not vote the democrate sample ballot. I looked at each candidate's platform/website hoping to find people whose focus was on academics and who seemed to have believable, solid, actionable ideas. The best I could find was Ilryong Moon. I would have happily voted for any of the GOP endorsed candidates but, while they paid lip service to making FCPS academics great again, the only specifics were getting books out of libraries and keeping trans kids out of bathrooms.

So, you blame the voters? I blame you for only coming up with openly bigoted candidates endorsed by groups reasonable people don'
t want to be associated with. My vote is available to you. GET BETTER CANDIDATES.

Her Instagram and the people tagged in her posts seem to be just some random people with no actual connection to Hayfield but are all in for the team?? Very very shady.

The "team mom" got hired as a teacher for this school year and her son played for Freedom. No idea if "team mom" worked as a teacher anywhere else before.

The coaches brother, who is an assistant coach, also got hired as a teacher aide. No idea who else associated with the team was
Mysteriously hired as a full time Hayfield employee.

In slight fairness, IAs are in short supply so most schools would take anyone breathing who doesn’t have a criminal record to fill that role.

Overton getting a very visible and critical role like S&S Specialist is a far bigger issue.

Principal wanted Overton
If he was available a HC spot would be available
AD knew that if he came kids would follow
AD and principal turned blinds eye to what became a whole influx of transfers
Who tells the kids which loopholes to possibly use coach or AD
I hvnt seen or heard that Overton actually told or influenced anyone
He’s guilty of being a good coach yes
But want to know where his level of involvement is

No good coach would think this. Good coaches beat good teams. Overton did not do this once this season. Good coaches teach their players things like good sportsmanship etc. Overton has never once done this. Good coaches don't cheat. Overton has made a career out of cheating.

The above comment has to have been written by Coach O.

Evident you’re a Coach O hater. NOT one coach around this very area has the guts or gumption to even schedule a DeMatha, but he did with a clearly undersized team.

He scheduled a Private school this year, NO other coach in this area would do that

He scheduled powerhouse Varina, no FCPS school would do that, so pls spare me

He only has 2 decent teams, he crushed somewhat decent WSHS and lost to RB. So as far as the ntll district is concerned, it’s very weak and that’s why for years Hayfield was playing on borrowed time because beating up on teams in that district really would nvr prepare you for good playoff type teams

Ok snowflake.

Yes, entitled coaches who came into hayfield and families of transfers who thought they could cheat and when called out about it could just cry racism and all their problems would go away.

Gotta love Grant Paulsen’s post about this at 6:42pm last night…..

“The handling of the Hayfield HS football situation was a complete debacle by FCPS and all involved.

They were re-admitted to the playoffs the day they were supposed to start, cancelling all the games and screwing teams over. Now they’re out again after the first round, on the eve of tomorrow’s games. Screws the whole field up again.

Just an absolute shabingus of the highest order. Everybody should be so embarrassed.

I feel for all the kids getting jerked around because grown ups screwed up in every which way, over and over.”

Is this hayfraud families new talking point to justify their cheating? Well I guess it’s better than their standard “anyone who thinks we did anything wrong is racist!”

When she dicked around for a week sending vague emails and let the Edison game play, a frustrated coach leaked the texts to the FT.

If this rumor is true, my bet is on the West Potomac coach, Chadwick Louisville. Fritts was the head coach and Assistant DSA at Mount Vernon for 7 years before he took the job at Hayfield last year. Louisville was one of his assistant coaches. I heard that he was the coach who organized the other coaches to send the letter threatening forfeit.

Louisville sucks as a coach, he won’t out scheme you, and when he can’t out athlete you he falls apart and he’ll lose it and place blame on kids and assts.

You guys think he’s the one who ratted Fritz out?

Don’t think it don’t care, but you see folks turn on there own, this is only partially about race, the rest is egos from ADs coaches and principals, it’s bragging it’s status in your community.
Whomever ratted out Fritz is a true snake and I would wonder what their motives were. Why wait so late if you have this damning evidence, from the beginning of the year. It smells really fishy.

I don’t know about flipped but I know as a coach he’s not good, that’s all I’m saying

Correction, it isn’t remotely about race.

No, just I don’t use the race card, in life some people are just better at things than others, my point is you play to win not necessarily cheat but I’m going to play the best player, if a kid from Hayfield was better then hopefully he played. I don’t believe in letting someone come in and take food off my table without a fight. It seems as though some kids just tucked and cried. End of the day what’s done is shameful and embarrassing to EVERYONE involved from top to bottom
