I don't see her doing that at all. I know it's a common fantasy on this thread, though. Therapy helps people understand themselves, including projections like this. It's more about the PP who think this than it is about the real situation we're discussing.

They are marketing themselves as Sussex Royal. That’s not a fantasy, or projection. (Although it does sound like the name of Vegas casino).

It sounds like her mom is defending her daughter to the press. Her mother said her grandson is “the cutest” and Meghan is a strong woman. It sounds like her mom didn’t like her dad selling her out and stepped up to defend her daughter. Good for them!

There is nothing in the article except words of support from Doria Ragland.

Her mother talked to someone who spoke to the press. It's hard to avoid but never comes across positively. Earlier, her mother is quoted as supporting their decision to exit, which is supportive but also critical of the Royal Family, which is the only reason any of us even know who Meghan is.

That "tsk tsk" poster is just a super-bitch who interprets absolutely anything to do with Meghan Markle as negative, even her mother saying, through someone else, that she was a strong woman and her baby was the cutest. The PP is mental.

This.

I love that article. Doria praised her daughter while speaking in passing to someone else who just shared it with the press. Far different from Thomas Markle calling up TMZ and GMB to be a hateful SOB.

I also love Meghan's new life in Canada. It's clear she was isolated in Britain (emotionally and physically) and its SO much easier for people to get up to Canada - especially from LA - than on a 11-hour direct flight to London.

You wanted to know where her friends are? They're by her side.

Meghan has also been surrounded by the support of close friends who have come to visit her in Canada. She was seen picking up her friend Heather Dorak, a pilates instructor in L.A., on Thursday at the Victoria International Airport. Meghan’s former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer went on a New Year’s Day hike with Meghan and Harry. And actress Janina Gavankar snapped the adorable photo of Archie that appeared on the Duke and Duchess’ holiday card. Meghan’s good friend Jessica Mulroney, who lives in Toronto, was also on-hand to watch Archie while Meghan and Harry traveled to the U.K. to make their big announcement.

It's very hard to move to another country. For many reasons. We know that. Meghan failed. That's normal but not admirable or brave. If she had stuck it out, that would have been impressive. As it is, what is impressive about her now?

Life is short. Why should she have endured long-suffering for that BS. If she was my daughter, sister, BFF, I would have told her that she is a mother now and her mental health and happiness is more important than the constant bullying she was receiving. LEAVE. PP, you and your daughter can be an abused martyrs, apparently there are many women like you on DCUM willing to sell their souls to stay in miserable circumstances.

I feel like this thread has made me understand all the women in DCUM who are staying with cheaters and abusers.

She married into a reigning family, if she and Harry could show that they would put their feelings aside for "Country", there would be more support for the monarchy. MLK faced horrific racism in his life and never stopped loving America.
The press might indeed be racist, and a little bit anti American, and a little bit anti Meghan, I suspect a bit of each.
Also, Camilla feared worse than Meghan. She kept a low profile until people got used to her. I used to hate Camilla, now I have become accustomed to her presence. H&M are making a drastic immature move. I hope that it doesn't have permanent repercussions.
My underlying thought is that Meghan acts like the typical Hollywood actress that needs to suck up all of the oxygen in the room. SHe gets easily bored. She underestimated what she was getting into. She is now relying on people thats she doesn't''t even know that well, who have poor taste, and lives of excess. Her marriage is at much greater risk in Hollywood than in the Royal Family.
Hopefully, someone can talk some sense into them and get them back in Britain in the next few years. Hopefully Charles will be able to defend them when he is King, I sense that he is rational when dealing with his sons.

So now you’ve compared Meghan to a mistress, and you think Meghan should follow her example. don’t think there is anything else to say. Also, I don’t think you know enough about MLK, Jr and his life after his 1964 speech. Read a little bit more

A) MLK was American - hence he loved his country.
B) Meghan is American and in my opinion a country has a duty to show love their citizens as well. The US has a history of welcoming the 'poor, the downtrodden, the unwanted'. As far as I can tell Britain didn't seem all that welcoming to Meghan at all and in fact - its reporters were so vile even while she was living in Canada.

So why would she be 'loyal' to a country whose media slandered her every day from the time Prince Henry started dating her?

And please - Camilla and Meghan aren't even in the same category. She deserved every bit of hate she got - breaking up a marriage of a 19-year-old girl with young children and throwing away her own in the process.

She chose to marry a British prince. At the time, she said she intended to be a British duchess. She is still a duchess now. That's why she should be loyal to the UK.

She should be loyal to her family and self first.

First of all, most people don't need to be impressive to be loved, or to be spared from abuse by family and the press, either. Second, I've personally listed many reasons I admire Meghan Markle throughout this thread but you ignore them so I don't bother.

Repeat, she does not need to do a thing to earn your admiration, PP. She is head and shoulders above you already.

If she hadn’t married Harry no one would have heard of her.

Her family is British royalty. He has wanted out for a while and she is a good vehicle for that. But she's trading on his name for her fame. She wants it both ways. Yuck.

There is no "self" in this. She has to accept sacrifice with privilege. No one said it would be easy. She is being selfish. All they needed to do is take a back seat for a few years. The new mom thing always works well as an excuse, so have a second child. KEEP A LOW PROFILE and be quiet.
Also, "the press" is not all of Britain. Many Brits loved her. Her in laws welcomed her. Yes William seems to be a jerk, but he is not the whole family.

I am comparing Camilla and Meghan's different ways of handling the press. One ignored it, the other over reacted.

I just love when women are encouraged to be quiet, keep a low profile, and not be seen. Speak only when spoken to.

I remember having to “google” her when they were reported to be dating. I had never heard her name, not had any of my friends. She was not a big celebrity or famous. She could have been any other woman at Whole Foods.
