Catholic thing. Half are RWNJ. The other half are the Pope Francis types. Interestingly, the RWNJ type Catholics do not like the Pope. |

| I wrote to the diocese to share my opinion. Suggest all do the same. |
Right. And the time for that should be after Omicron has blown through. Not while we have extremely high transmission. |
I did too. So happy! |

I am reminded of the posts late summer 2020 and all of the people commenting on parochial schools and their push to open schools when all the public’s remained closed.
For what is is worth, my DC will keep their mask on for 2-4 more weeks. After that, we are going to gladly put them in our pocket and replace them with a smile. |
That's an easy tell that you are a follower reading from a tired, self-righteous script. We're trying to keep in person teacher lead instruction intact in spite of US having 800K cases yesterday with 2,800 deaths. Please report back to us on how hospital staff is swamped, ICU beds are scarce, elective surgeries have been delayed, etc all due to the influx of patients being rolled in with mask injuries. |
I was in favor of the schools being in person. I sent my kids even though we had a virtual option. We still have a responsibility to reduce the burden while cases are very high. That people are so black and white in their thinking is terrible. Masks have a place when cases are high. We should adjust when cases are low. And be ready to utilize them again (along with other mitigation techniques) should cases go up again after Omicron. |
100%! Also, for all people who say masks will not protect them, I believe mass mask-wearing was done to avoid people from giving it to others. When unmasked kids get their teachers sick, I hope parents will sign up to sub and babysit students at school. Yes, babysit, because that is what will happen. |

I don’t disagree- which is why we will stay masked for a few more weeks until surge drops. We will also keep masks clean and handy for when they need to be used again. The vast majority of the parents I know feel the same way. Just a few outliers on both ends of the spectrum.

How sad your feel your kids aren’t currently smiling. I would check in with them as I bet they are. Kids don’t have a problem with masks…parents do. |
Indeed. And they should come back if there’s a future spike. |
100%. This may be an ongoing thing we need to learn to live with. |
