Peanut butter burgers are good.

People associate PB with things that are sweet, because it is often eaten with jelly, but if you really think about it, PB is perfect because you mix a nutty flavor the saltiness of bacon. Peanuts are used in all sorts of Thai dishes for sorta the same effect. You just have to force your brain to stop telling you that you're expecting something sweet when you eat PB on a burger.

Definitely, this. And why is it so difficult to buy a decent wedge of baklava? I have tried them at many Mom and Pop kebab shops and have been just as disappointed as with chains. People will pay for real quality butter, nuts and honey given the chance.

I didn't like baklava until I had it in Istanbul and then I understood why I didn't like it before then. We can really mess up food here.

Most desserts are trash- at someone’s dinner party or at a restaurant. ESPECIALLY at restaurants: bland cheesecake, blah tiramisu, lava cake that tastes like chocolate syrup. All desserts should be ice cream or they should be served with ice cream, preferably a high-fat vanilla. Affogato, brownies, chocolate chip cookies or a fruit crumble WITH ice cream. I will make exceptions to the infrequently well-executed lemon bar or lemon-meringue pie.

Lemon bars and lemon meringue pie are awful! Meringue is just gross as a concept -- it looks like its whipped cream, but no, it's egg whites. Yuck.

I hate PB, didn't grow up with it. But, it is seriously good in Panang curry. The dish would not be the same without it. But, I do not understand forcing your brain not to expect something that is a reflex memory for people that grew up with sweet PB. Nobody needs to eat love bacon and peanut butter together, but if you like it, that is also great for you. And you should enjoy it. I love cabbage, but I don't force people to try it million times.

Yes I said it. Fight me.

I wouldn't say bland, but I do find them overly sweet. And they cost more! But I'm the only one in my house who is not a fan.

I am also one of you! Merinuge is gross to me. Whip creme that I make and in pattiseries in Europe... to die for! But, there is a lemon creme pie that Village Inn sells that I absolutely adore. Their similar pie with meringue is gross to me. No Village In here though. Plus I was diagnosed with dairy allergy, so bye, bye my lemon creme pie...

I also hate meringue. Lemon pie and key lime pie can be amazing (I can make an excellent lemon pie) just leave off the meringue.

I find the Honeycrisp to be the only reliably crisp, sweet apple out there. The other Reds seem easily bruised and mealy-prone. I like to my Honeycrisp
sliced with a squeeze of lemon.

It’s meat butter.

Restaurant portions are frustratingly enormous now. I don’t want a giant plate of food that I will spend a lot of money on to eat only half. Give me reasonable portion for a reasonable price.

Oreos are disgusting.

Oh this makes so much sense to me! Thanks PP! I grew up with peanut butter as more of a salty thing - on its own on toast, and as an ingredient in savoury cooking. So the PPs discussion of pb and cheese doesn’t sound that weird to me and while I get that it’s very popular, pb and jelly is a gross combo to me

People who are militant about food drive me up a wall! Everything in moderation. Just because your kids eat McDonald’s every so often won’t make them terrible adults. Also, parents who think they can really predetermine what their kids will eat as adults - unless you are talking about upping your child’s chances of an eating disorder.

Like others, I generally hate salad dressing. And overly sweet desert.

It isn’t just the size- it’s all the uninspired accompanying cheap filler. I want a plate with a small appetizer size entree,
some mixed greens- kale/arugula style, a grilled vegetable. Add a glass of wine and a two bite dessert- perfect.
