Amazing to me that anyone is even trying to defend this. How quickly our institutions crumble. Kind of scary. |
Imagine that? The President knew that the incoming National Security Advisor was making secret deals with the Russian government and then lying about his conversation to the incoming Vice President, WH Chief of Staff and Press Secretary. |
But he’s the bad guy. What kind of deranged mental state are you in that this falls back on Obama? JFC Get thee to Comet Ping Pong stat! |
Who came up with this crazy law that says you can't lie to the FBI? Wouldn't people be less likely to talk to the FBI if they could end up in the slammer for telling a fib? People lie to the police all the time and that is perfectly legal (assuming they aren't obstructing). What makes the FBI do special?
BTW, I'm not defending MAGA trash Flynn. |
Right. If this was all a nothing burger, or a set-up, or a frame-up, the judicial system should be the hammer. Now it just looks suspicious that Barr had to intervene before a judge could rule. |
Are you 3? Lying to the FBI or the police about a material issue is a crime. Sorry your parents never told you that. |
The government already proved it and Flynn pled guilty to it, not once, but twice. Further, there is NO news evidence provided in this 100 page filing. Nothing that the Judge hasn't already considered. |
They are federal agents. There is a specific statute. |
Flynn pled guilty under duress. That is evident. It has been the MO of this prosecutorial crew from the get go.
The Obama/Biden/Comey FBI had been running roughshod for far too long. They got caught. Glad it was dismissed. He is free. Boy, wouldn't heads explode if Trump brought him in as an advisor??? |
No, he didn't. Even Powell hasn't said that. Not to the court. |
I would have to see Sullivan's previous ruling regarding the statements. My first reaction is that to call it lying is a huge stretch. Particularly since the two agents didn't consider him being deceptive. |
