Stop the FCV (DA) and McLean (ECNL) hate

FCV is better in coaching and players. Not even close. And this isn’t a knock on George or Spencer, but FCV coaching is on another level.

Not true at all. I know all of these coaches and have had my DD train with all of them many times. FCV coaches are not better than George and Spencer. The training they do are very similar between the clubs. All do rondos for warms up including keep away, free play with Pugg goals and small sided, small field games to handle pressure situations. The way they handle players is the biggest difference. George and Spencer are more player's coaches and create a more friendly and supportive environment but can still be tough on the kids when needed. The two are both former players and at times join the players on the field. Bobby P is more of a sideline coach and administrator overseeing the sessions. Gus D is a former player will who will sometimes join the field to demonstrate but also is a sideline coach.

Bobby P probably does a better job of promoting his club (social media, connections to USSF staff, etc). If that's what you mean by another level then fine but from a pure coaching standpoint the clubs are very similar.

If you’ve had your kid trained by the FCV coaches, you’d know that what you described is not how FCV typically trains. But you already knew that.

Congratulations to those girls. This is an example of a super team formed when there were only 2 club options for top level soccer in the area. The talent used to be very concentrated. For the younger girls the talent is spread across 6-7 DA/ECNL teams.

A factor to consider here is where would these girls have gone to school without soccer? Many of them may have gone to same level school for other reasons (academics or connections of parents or their private high schools). McLean soccer is full of very well connected families and many of these families have many college options for their kids regardless of sports. Point being that lists like these don’t always tell the whole story especially when the application is very strong in other facets than sports.

This is not Varsity Blues. UNC, UVA, Georgetown, Princeton and Wisconsin do not recruit you unless you can help them win an NCAA title. If Obama's daughter couldn't get on Harvard or Princeton's team no matter how strong the Obama connections are. At this level, you need to be a stand out player. Obviously, academic institutions like Harvard, Columbia and Princeton require strong academics but connections only go so far. Playing and standing out on an elite ECNL team is the main driver. This is not about going to school. This is about going to school and playing for an elite NCAA DI team that will compete for the championship.

You need to throttle down a little bit. This isn't football or basketball we're talking about.
While you can use soccer as a hook to get into an Ivy or other top academic institution, you can't get in without being able to do the work (or least seem like you can do the work).
Winning a soccer championship doesn't move the needle much for an institution; therefore, schools (especially those with high academic standards)aren't going to go for a "riskier" athlete to play soccer no matter how elite their ECNL team was.

Please stop saying MU’s coaches are elite. Just stop. Nice guys. Top coaches? Please. What in either of their backgrounds gives them that status? One came from McLean where he was the low man on the totem pole and one came from Vienna. Neither have had any success in the DA. Help me understand.

Sold me what? You are reading into things. I never said he played in college, but he knows how to play soccer. I have seen him out there with the kids on the field. You won't see Bobby kick a soccer ball. Simply comparing the coaching. If you think they are such different levels of coaching then stop trolling and explain why and support your argument. Because I have seen both up close and the training is the same.

The FCV posters act like Bobby built FCV. What a joke. The club is hanging on to it's glory days and seeing it slip away.

Up and coming talent is no longer interested in play there. Especially with the terrible environment, jerk coaches and dishonest disclosure of the sale to a far away gym after deposits were made for next year.

You must 1st understand the difference between FCV ECNL and FCV United.

FCV United was Terrys attempt to field non-ecnl teams while building the club revenue and acquiring fields. The coalition didnt last long.
Everything changed when Evergreen opened.
