GT/AAP Appeals WISC Scores

Anonymous

you haven't been reading the WISC/WPPSI thread on the private school forum. Some testers are well known as "easy graders."

You've clearly haven't read the title of that thread. It reads ' WPPSI/WISC Myths'. Is the word 'myths' ring you a bell?

yeah, you need to go a little below that, like reading the several posts.

Not the op. I did read that post... several posts down. Mysths are still mysths.. as we really can't trust any of these posts by 100%. We all believe what we want to believe.. end of the story.

And for all their faults, the various tests that kids take to get there are the only objective (or as close to objective as humanly possible) measures in the process.

But all teachers grade exactly the same, right?

As long as you have indicated that your child will be attending the Center school, the mylunchmoney.com account will be automatically shifted to the new school.

Willow Springs does not post class lists as far as I know. Open house dates are posted on the website of the school.

Did we find any pattern for appeal success? We still have several posters who did not report the final decisions. Can people update?

The pattern is...if you want in, appeal, and they'll let you in.
Anonymous
Most FxAT score is lower than the cutoff.
Most GBRS is low

Having read these threads for three years now, I firmly believe the number one determinant of acceptance into AAP is how hard the parent wants to push for it.
Anonymous
Well, for all these kids who got in for appeal, at least one of the test scores was above the cutoff.
Anonymous
Some parents did not report back on the decisions:
5. VCI 128 PRI 120 FSIQ 129 10
9 VCI 115 PRI 136 WM 110 PS 115 FSIQ 126 12
11 VCI 112 PRI 139 WM 110 PS 115 FSIQ 126
12. FSIQ 129 8
14. VCI 135 PRI 130 FSIQ 132 10
This kid should be in based on the scores
15. VCI 130 PR 127 WM 123 PS 112 FSIQ: 130 13
Should be in
16. 139 89% VCI 134 PRI 141 PSI 133 FSIQ 149 6
Definitely in based on the scores
17. 129 83% WISC 150
Definitely in based on the WISC
18. VCI 126 PRI 125 FSIQ: 123 11
19. VCI 132 PRI 137 WMI 120 PSI 112 FSIQ: 134 8
Should be in
23. 151 78% FSIQ: 150 11
Definitely in based on the scores

I kind of agree that for kids who were in the pool with at least one testing score above the cutoff, if the parent pushed hard, the kid would be in... These kids were eligible anyway except for the low GBRS...
