War with Iran Part II

But Trump will probably will get a cut so it’s a great deal. /s

I would not doubt this at all.

In fact I’ll wager this where the board of peace will come in.

From social media

Trump managed to be both Hitler and Chamberlain in the same negotiation. An unprecedented feat.

It is so true!

JD Vance: "I think this comes from a legitimate misunderstanding. I think the Iranians thought the ceasefire included Lebanon, and it just didn't. We never made that promise, we never indicated that was gonna be the case."

Lebanon was literally in the 10 point plan that the US agreed to. It is hard to understand if they are stupid, if they think we are stupid, if that are just that callous, or all of the above.

Israel bombed Beirut not Southern Lebanon. That's probably the game Bibi is playing.

The US isn't bombing Lebanon. Israel is. Seems to me that Iran needs to be prosecuting a deal with Israel.

Just so we are clear: you are saying we should leave Israel high and dry?

I mean, they attacked Iran without a plan for the closure of Hormuz. They didn't even think it up as a possible scenario.

This is exhausting…they were told by intelligence that Iran was likely to close the Strait, and Trump, Vance, and Hegseth willfully ignored it.

NP.

Yes. That sounds like the only way out for us. Israel has been our welfare parasite for a long time. It's going to kill us.

So are the talk canceled now?

From The Guardian-
“US has violated three clauses of ceasefire deal, says Iran's parliament speaker
Earlier, Iran’s powerful parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that three key clauses of the hours-old ceasefire had been violated ahead of planned negotiations, and described further talks as “unreasonable”.

In a statement on X, Ghalibaf said Iran’s “deep historical distrust” toward the US stems from its “repeated violations of all forms of commitments — a pattern that has regrettably been repeated once again”.

He noted that Donald Trump had described Iran’s proposal as a “workable basis on which to negotiate” and the main framework for these talks” (which Trump did say on Truth Social, but the White House attempted to walk that back earlier).

The three violations, Ghalibaf said, were:

Non-compliance with the first clause of the 10-point proposal regarding the ceasefire in Lebanon – a commitment which Pakistan’s prime minister Shehbaz Sharif has also explicitly referred to and declared as “an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon and other regions, effective immediately”.
The entry of an intruding drone into Iran’s airspace, which was destroyed in Lar, “in clear violation of the clause prohibiting any further violation of Iranian airspace”.
Denial of Iran’s right to enrichment, which was included in the sixth clause of the framework.”

It seems to be the Israel and now US MO to "agree" to a ceasefire and then violate it.

Then again, there is no trustworthy partner where Trump is concerned. I have no idea why anyone would negotiate with him, given his chronic bad faith.

Doesn’t virtually everybody want that? They’re going to consistently torpedo any cease fire or end to this.

The “talks” were just a way to get Iran to put negotiators in a room so Israel or the US could blow them up. It’s like a Monty Python skit.

Israel has repeatedly tried to sabotage any effort at peace. How many times have they assasinated negotiators in the midst of negotiations? 3 or 4?

They knew what the terms were and willfully violated them. Their continued blood lust is harming us. They're more instransigent and expansionist than Iran is. Let that sink in.

Do you have a better idea?
