This is the frustrating thing about all the ECNL people. MLSN and GA haven't said anything about switching from BY to SY. At this point its becoming clear that they intend to stay BY. If they wanted to do something different the plans would have been announced.

All that's going to happen if MLSN + GA stay BY while ECNL changes to SY is that they wont play in each other's tournaments.

Also, there would be an incentive to create a youngers BY league.

Someone already leaked an email from GA office they are changing age groups but the GA board has not approved them to announce yet. It was also announced publicly to all GA directors at their meeting this summer.

Seems odd and exactly like the made up "So Cal" announcement from last year. At least this time the faker was smart enough to not define an announcement date.

That poster on SoCal forum is credible. They posted emails from ECNL about age change before it was announced. As well as posted before age group change was announced and was just a rumor. I don’t know what email you’re referring to and I’m from Southern California. In my eyes they are credible.

Anyone who thinks I’m lying should goto the forum and look it up themselves.

Every email I’ve seen them post has ended up being true and looks real. I’m not sure what you’re referencing? But what did it say and did it end up not being truthful?

That poster said SoCal would withhold SY to 26/27 long before the USSF AGM meeting. If I had to rank credibility, he would be the most trusted source among anyone else.

I don't think it's clear that GA intends to stay BY because there have been some talks/leaks of them switching to SY. MLSN is a different story though. And the fact that MSLN and GA have this "partnership" does not mean the leagues will mirror each other on what they plan to do. The boys and girls game, both on and off the field, are much different.

There has been one screenshot of a possible GA email or text message that could have easily been faked. Just like last year when it happened.

Oh and youve got the commenter on DCUM that claimed that Trish the Commish told them GA would announce SY within the week. This was a month ago.

That GA email was shared by a credible source from SoCal. He posted a similar email for the AGM decision on SY, which turned out to be true. GA will go to SY 100%.

Not sure the source. But one of the SoCal guys posting emails and SS was posting fakes. That was confirmed multiple times.

His posts also did NOT turn out to be true. They turned out to be closer to the outcome than the status quo was, but he was not at all accurate or reliable.

I was at AGM. There was no announcement of a change. Just that GA was aware of the other leagues plans and would never say never to changing in the future if it was for the best interest of GA and the players.

SY was most popular based off Directors feedback, BY was not far behind.
However there was a good size group that chose other and could write in their ideas besides Aug 1 or Jan 1.

The options were SY 9/1 or BY 1/1. Many people didnt like SY 9/1 and voted other because of it. Once USYS + US Club got SY 9/1 they changed it to SY 8/1. This would likely have changed the number of other votes in some fashion.

Also other votes didn't equate to just GY. Other was everything, 8/1, SY+30, biobanding, etc.

SY was the most popular and the feedback was from directors (who don't like change/extra work) plus anybody else who wanted to comment. So clear win for SY.

Also rec tends to align with SY. While higher level soccer aligns with BY. From a club owner perspective SY makes sense because you have 10x the number of littles teams then olders top teams.

If the question would have been asked "which would you prefer for olders top tier teams". It would have been completely different and likely in favor of BY.

The littles and rec fans think they have the nunbers to push everyone else around. What they dont understand is the top tier teams might just break off and do their own thing if their needs are ignored. In fact this is exactly how ECNL was initially formed.

If you're "pre GA" this means you're playing in SOCAL league. SOCAL league has already announced that they're switching to SY. This would also be why you're saying tryouts are in 6 months. SOCAL league is year round starting in Feb. Usually tryouts are between Dec and Feb. GA is year round as well ending in july and starting in August.
