MLSN1 will go to SY except MLS Academy. Argue all you want until you hear the official news.

MLSN1 (now MLS Homegrown) is composed by MLS academies plus MLS p2p clubs.

How MLS academies could remain BY if MLS1 (Homegrown) would go SY?

It doesn’t make sense.

MLS academies play MLS1, so if MLS1 goes SY then MLS academies also will go SY. It’s logical.

Did MLS1 or MLS2 announce that they would be doing anyhting other than BY?

No, I was just answering a previous comment that took that hypothesis as valid.

This is the frustrating thing about all the ECNL people. MLSN and GA haven't said anything about switching from BY to SY. At this point its becoming clear that they intend to stay BY. If they wanted to do something different the plans would have been announced.

All that's going to happen if MLSN + GA stay BY while ECNL changes to SY is that they wont play in each other's tournaments.

Also, there would be an incentive to create a youngers BY league.

Someone already leaked an email from GA office they are changing age groups but the GA board has not approved them to announce yet. It was also announced publicly to all GA directors at their meeting this summer.

Seems odd and exactly like the made up "So Cal" announcement from last year. At least this time the faker was smart enough to not define an announcement date.

That poster on SoCal forum is credible. They posted emails from ECNL about age change before it was announced. As well as posted before age group change was announced and was just a rumor. I don’t know what email you’re referring to and I’m from Southern California. In my eyes they are credible.

Anyone who thinks I’m lying should goto the forum and look it up themselves.

GA AGM was nearly 2 months ago. And it’s open to the public for $150 a pop.

I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

Plus…That one dad’s screenshots are about has reliable as my Apple notes….one looked like her screen shorted from his own MS word app.

Get a life. Wait for any real announcement.

Our coach just told us GA is switching and the club is planning to have players practicing with their projected new teams as soon as November.

Wait a minute.

If you're "pre GA" this means you're playing in SOCAL league. SOCAL league has already announced that they're switching to SY. This would also be why you're saying tryouts are in 6 months. SOCAL league is year round starting in Feb. Usually tryouts are between Dec and Feb. GA is year round as well ending in july and starting in August.

Most likely you misunderstood what your coach was saying. They were talking about SOCAL and you assumed they were talking about GA.

It wouldn’t make sense to switch a 2014 team to SY for 6 months to then switch them back to BY for a GA season that starts in August.

That’s because everyone will be SY except for maybe MLSN 1 whatever it is called now.

I think the "get a life" guy is a paid for SY marketing service.

GA director for my club said it will change next year and we are going to put 2013/14 team together for spring to get games together. Will play in a local league.

Which league do you plan to play in? Leagues are supposed to wait until the 26/27 season fir changing to SY. Maybe someone will jump the gun.

Whats more likely to occur is SY team based friendlies with other clubs. This is because theres no league and the scores dont matter.

They'll probably just play up, my daughter's team is doing this for the entire year this year. She's on our clubs top 14/15 SY team and will just play in leagues and tournaments with the 14s all year. They were playing a year up in our local leagues generally anyway, so it makes no difference, in fact instead of being an entirely 15 team playing with 14s, they are now a fall 14, plus 15 team playing with 14s.

This actually makes sense. But it would have to be a local league which probabaly doesnt have much competition even when playing up.

2014 pre GA in Socal will have tryout in Feb for GA 26/27 season.

The Aug-Dec in our team will stay behind for an extra year of 9v9. And the Aug-Dec from 2013 will be joining the team.

Cal South already announced SY for 26 Spring . I am almost certain SOCAL will follow suit , because of the year round playing in the region.

MLS1 is only BY crazy hope, but that one will be broken soon, except Academy.

Cal South is a rec league these days. SOCAL is 3rd and 4th level teams for olders. I dont know what they'll do but it wont matter because the teams where SY makes a difference wont be playing in either.
