I was just seeing footage from CSPAN showing that the “marching” in a lot of cases was informal strutting or sauntering. A sort of protest from the service people. |
+1
I just watched a clip of soldiers ambling along the avenue to “Fortunate Son,” and now I’ll have to apologize to my DH who swore up and down that the military wouldn’t participate happily in this grotesque event. |
It’s pathetic how little you understand history. Absolutely pathetic. Hint: Boston Tea Party |
I saw that noted on Twitter...tried to find it but couldn't. |
I think you had hot (as in temperature), young Soldiers who don't march in formation often. They all loved being here. On the Army socials, these kids were having the time of their lives. Many (most?) had never been to DC before. Most love the President. It was a great day to be a Soldier. |
The tanks didn't tear up the roads like everyone thought |
I haven’t read one hateful comment about our military. We believe they deserve better which is one of the million reasons we hate trump. |
Agree. The comments were negative about the parade not the military. Most pointed out the money should have been spent on vets and programs to improve life for those who serve. Not a vanity project for our King. |
It was most certainly real, and it was spectacular. |
What gets me....I get it that progressives and folks supporting "No Kings" wouldn't go to this event. But where were all the MAGAs and Trump supporters? I thought MAGA LOVED Trump and MAGA LOVED our military.
Why did they shun this event? I would have expected a million MAGA on the Mall for this. What happened? |
I think a lot are just keyboard warriors. You'd have to be highly motivated to spend the time and money to travel to an event that may be rained out, pay for a hotel, food etc.. The last time I saw that level of motivation was the day of the Women's March--but not since. |
