Yale is division 1. |
| Ivies are separate athletic category who don't technically offer scholarships. They do work arounds through packages. But, they can't lose the package even if injured or stop playing. |

| I heard a park worker at boland say there are plans to upgrade a few more of the grass fields to turf. He was cancelling a rec game on saturday last minute weather and mentioned it. Dc united has a training facility in the park. LS is not for profit. Wonder if they would be allowed to build there. Lots of land. If they got 4 million and aren't for profit...? |

I know a kid who played MLS Next for Sporting KC for many years. He recently aged out and they had to offer him a contract.
The offer . . . $900 a month and cannot play college soccer while on contract. |
| What team is playing aspire with Loudoun? |
The team they can piece together with the girls they have left. |
Boys ENCL is more comparable to MLSN2 |
They already added a few very weak players to the ga team and some teams have no goalie. |
Girls 2013 red team staying together at NVA. Is the 2013 black team staying together at LS? Are there spots left on the LS GA (not aspire) team? |
| Thoughts on direction of Boys u10 - u13 programs at Loudoun? Is the soccer actually any good or different from other nearby programs like VRSC? |
MLS NExt costs a lot so that 4 mill will help pay for that |
It all depends on the coaches really. If your kid enjoys where they are and they're developing and learning, there's no reason to chase something else. Winning/Losing games on the weekend really does nothing. It's all about development and as much as it is a team sport, you have to look at your kid's development individually and if he/she is learning and developing each season. |
I am biased with a son in that age group. The top (2?) teams are competitive in most age groups and getting better. The group does have strong coaches with DP, KL and FA all being very different but very effective. Losing SM to the younger academy kids hurt because he is fantastic for this age group too. The rising u12s are way more talented than their VPSL record and have done quite well in high level tournaments. They’ve recently added 1 or 2 kids from Revolution whose team is struggling in EDP at that age group. The rising u11s are also very talented and playing up an age group in 2nd division of NCSL and doing well. Those two teams have been together a long time with very little turnover but some new talent added each year (1 maybe 2 kids) to address holes in the roster. Too soon to tell for rising u10. FA is a good coach and there is talent there. Sometimes his coaching style is better for older kids so I expect them to get better as they mature. New group just finishing their first year but solid. Getting the same coach 2 years in a row does help because each has a different style approach and I’ve not seen a true “club philosophy” but consistency helps. They also actively promote players up to guest play and have seen kids fleet up to top team from 3rd team. All that being said - if you aren’t on one of the top two teams - you won’t get the same level of coaching or commitment. But that’s every large club. |
| LS will partner with the county to fund some turf fields and will have almost exclusive access to the fields. The whole deal to sell the soccer park was a back door deal orchestrated by the backward county government. The entire operation is shady and probably entailed a bunch of separate deals. |
