There are so many other issues at play here that many people will rank higher than abortion. I would say voting for a Dem means the following:

Higher taxes, higher spending, continued failure at the border and illegals immigration, increased crime and less enforcement, CRT in schools and DEI, higher energy prices, naming gas stoves (see NY and CA). For the DEI, was it Oregon that dropped all graduation standards for kids being able to read/write and do math to graduate in the name of Equity?

Sure, you got abortion. But so many other economic issues to deal with.

Dude, Virginia’s in a budget surplus, no one is raising taxes. I hope whoever is paying you to be an anonymous troll gets their money back for your ignorant post.

But now that you bring up taxes, Virginia has a surplus of money and schools still aren’t fully funded. GOP loves to talk up Parents Rights but not fund the schools?

Exactly. When you look at the actions, not just the words/lies, then any reasonable person who values public education should not be voting GOP.

Here's where VA Republicans stand on Education (taken from candidate website).

"Candidate will ensure all Virginia schools remain safely open, expand access to more school choice, and increase funding for trade and vocational training."

Nothing about raising teacher pay, fund supplies so teachers don't have to buy themselves, ensure schools have internet access... Just Open schools safely. Are schools currently closed?

Did you miss the word "remain"? The teacher unions, a major democratic constituency, has fought for closing schools in the past.

OMG, Virginia doesn’t have teachers unions!

Really, I hope whoever is paying you to trolls this board asks for a refund because you obviously are clueless!

Democrat lies! Are you even capable of telling the truth?!?

Unions are GOOD things. We need more stronger unions. Teachers unions are GOOD things. They'll protect the integrity of our public schools from radical Republicans who want stupid policies like vouchers and other things that destroy public education.

DP. I agree 100000x. Strong teacher unions make for better schools for our kids.

The entire point was that the PP who was complaining about "teacher unions closing schools" during the pandemic isn't from VA because VA doesn't have "real" teacher unions with the power to close schools. I'm glad they have the option for collective bargaining and hopefully will become real teacher unions with an actual voice in the future.

Introduced by: Robert B. Bell | all patrons ... notes | add to my profiles

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Killing the fetus of another; manslaughter; penalties. Provides that any person who kills the fetus of another by an intentional act committed while in the sudden heat of passion upon reasonable provocation is guilty of voluntary manslaughter, which is punishable as a Class 5 felony. The bill also provides that any person who kills the fetus of another accidentally, contrary to the intention of the parties and while engaged in conduct so gross, wanton, and culpable as to show a reckless disregard for human life, is guilty of involuntary manslaughter, which is also punishable as a Class 5 felony.

It’s such a weird argument too. One can make a reasonable argument schools were closed too long but people have forgotten what “novel” means when they were talking about a novel virus that appeared to be extremely deadly. We obviously learned more over time, especially about who was most vulnerable, but schools were hardly the only thing that closed. And no unions anywhere had the power to close them. Those decisions, which were 100% prudent at the time they were initially made, were promulgated by state officials in consultation with health departments.

This is such a cynical non-issue and an attempt to tap into histrionic mommies whipped up into thinking they deserve more say in the operations of schools (and even individual classrooms) than they actually do.

“I would support a 100 percent ban,” Stirrup told a woman who had approached him after a Republican primary debate May 18, according to a recording obtained by The Washington Post. In another recording, made June 20, he told a man he met outside a polling place that “I’d like to see, you know, [a] total ban.”

On the recordings, Stirrup calls the 15-week ban that Youngkin has pursued a more politically “acceptable” goal than an outright ban and “a starting point,” but he is also dismissive of that cutoff, saying it “really doesn’t save that many lives.”

Youngkin characterized his proposed 15-week ban as the fallback and indicated that he would push for stricter limits if Republicans hold the House and flip the Senate in this year’s elections.

“I would support a 100 percent ban,” Stirrup says. “It seems like the kind of acceptable … position has been about 15 weeks, but that really doesn’t save that many lives. It’s a start, you know, and I know the left gets really, you know, animated about this, ‘Oh you’re banning abortion.’ Abortion will always be legal in the District of Columbia and Maryland. Women will always have that option.”

Gov. Glenn Youngkin said this week he believes life begins at conception and vowed to sign “any bill … to protect life” that reaches his desk, expressing more ambitious antiabortion goals than he set out last year on the campaign trail or expects to pull off in the next legislative session.

In remarks to conservative activists Tuesday night, Youngkin (R) indicated that if the political landscape shifts in Richmond, he would like to rein in abortion rights beyond what he is seeking now — a ban on most abortions after 15 or 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Any bill that comes to my desk I will sign happily and gleefully in order to protect life,” he said in an online forum organized by the Family Foundation of Virginia to celebrate the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark ruling that had legalized abortion nationwide.

And here is Youngkin saying that he can't be truthful during elections.

Youngkin will support any pro-life bill that comes to him

And admits to not being honest with voters before an election

Sorry - when all we saw for days on end were BLM protesters harassing drivers, hitting their cars, blocking traffic, yelling and banging on their windows - I'm far more inclined to give this woman the benefit of the doubt that this is indeed what she and her daughter experienced.

The gaslighting is coming from those who insist she did something wrong that night. Really pathetic that the city told the police they were not allowed to intervene during this chaos.

In certain localities like Richmond the REA is the assigned BARGAINING AGENT. That’s not the same thing as a union. And you can tell by the crappy deals they’ve made they don’t have the same knowledge and background as an ACTUAL union like the teamsters.

Those things are not mutually exclusive. I’ve lived in areas with real teacher unions and the schools are better when teachers have a voice. I 100% hope they gain strength/popularity here.

According to the police reports ― which characterize the protest as peaceful, with “no arrests or property damage” ― witnesses told police there was a car being aggressive toward protesters in the same intersection where Durant was located, at the same time she was there.

Beyond that, the full recording of Durant’s 911 call includes an exchange where she says she is prepared to run people over. These portions of the audio were selectively edited out of Carlson’s TV segment.

At one point during the call, the police officer on the line is calmly telling an audibly upset Durant not to hit demonstrators with her car. Durant responds: “Well, I will. I absolutely will.”

BS. The entire phone call is played in the above link and she does *not* say she is "prepared to run people over." What a load of crap. She is frantically trying to get out of a situation in which she's surrounded by BLM protesters - who are jumping on and hitting her car. And the police were instructed not to intervene.

Do continue your ridiculous LWNJ spin, though.
