There is literally a video of him resisting. |
You will be lucky to get one murder conviction out of this deal. The damage he took, although definitely unjustified and a horrible use of tactics, was not likely to cause death. MMA athletes take 10x the abuse and don't die. |
Why do you not acknowledge that people are killed while following police directions, or being incapable of following directions (deaf people have been shot for not hearing instructions). |
You're a liar and a terrible person. |
Excellent summary |
There is a video of him on the ground while they yell get on the ground. There is a video of him with his hands held by coos while they yelled hands behind his back. It’s like the cops were wasted on something. Then he ran. |
Daniel Shaver's a good example, because technically he didn't follow all of the (confusing and nearly impossible to follow consistently) instructions. He reached briefly for his waistband, which is likely why the officer was acquitted. But that's AFTER four and half minutes of complying with what the officer demanded. He was doing everything he could, never posed a threat to anyone, and ultimately a tiny instinctual reaction to his pants slipping down was enough for a death sentence and for the officer to walk free. It's insane, but people will still claim that if you just behave you won't get killed. |
He did get on the ground any at his hands behind his back. But they were screaming get on the ground and put your hands behind the back. What are you supposed to do when you’ve already complied and they’re still screaming at you to do exactly what you’ve done. He didn’t even commit a crime, he was falsely pulled over, he was kidnapped. Those are the charges against the cops, and under those circumstances only a smart human being would run in the stupid one would stay in those situations. |

You can't excuse the behavior of the police in this situation. It is beyond disgusting what they did.
Btw, even Fox news is condemning the police in this situation. |
LOL no. Did you post on the wrong thread? It's funny to hear a bunch of entitled justice warriors talk about law enforcement and tactics when they clearly have no idea what they are talking about. I'm sure some nerd will soon chime in with some scientific study that will explain everything! |
This guy followed directions and got shot anyway. The officer was sentenced to three years. |
DP Yes that is the experience of many POC - even judges, professors and doctors of color report being mishandled by police during routine traffic stops. It is a big stretch from one guy’s personal fortunate experience to “Most innocent people get killed by cops for not following instructions.” Probably mentally unwell people of all races have bad experiences because their responses are misinterpreted as aggressive. This is why more police training in deescalation and appropriate levels of force are needed (in conjunction with support services for cops and accountability measures to discipline bad cops). The majority of cops are just trying to do their job and probably need more training and counseling support. The bad actors need to be removed from the force. |
You don’t think the cops in waste it on something? You don’t think cops ever show up to work wasted? |
Do you think doctors show up to work wasted? They kill literally thousands of people a year so they could be drunk or on roids? |
