Memphis Cops Kill Motorist After Traffic Stop

When I was 29 I was driving a red Jeep at 4am by myself and I kinda saw a cop way back behind me. I was dead sober. I actually feel asleep on GFs sofa on a Thursday watching a movie and was driving home cause I had work the next day

As I approached the county line an unmarked car came out of now here cut me off and the cop car behind boxes me in.

Cop comes out with gun puts it towards my head yells put hand in dashboard don’t move Fing hands and a third cop car boxes me in one left side.

I stay quite hand in dash. Finally he puts gun away.

Turns out someone carjacked same exact Jeep I had same color with a discription of single man age late 20s.

As I was approaching county line unless in hot pursuit could not follow and was running plates when he pulled me over.

I would have been shot of did not follow directions.

Alas, some people would be shot even if they did follow directions. Or, as we can see from the topic of this thread, would be giving conflicting commands and beaten to death.

Begs the question:

Why is someone’s stupid car more important than a human life?

So that’s your excuse for summary executions?

Not relevant. Stop resisting.

This was not a “summary execution.” The police did not intend to kill this man. They may have been recklessly indifferent but his death was not purposeful.

They didn’t intend to kill him. They were just softening him up before taking him out for tea and cookies. The poor man had the nerve to die.

Puerile emotionalism sarcasm doesn’t change the facts. They intended to subdue him. They didn’t just shoot him in the back of the head.

You don’t understand “Intent to kill” definition.

They formed intent to kill when they intentionally beat him enough to die.

If you shoot at somebody with the intent to kill them and miss them but kill somebody else, you are charged with “intent to kill”.

If you intentionally beat someone to death … even if your intent was not necessarily to kill, you formed intent to kill by doing something intentionally that killed them.

No, you don’t understand the difference between “some degree of homicide” and “summary execution.”

The issue to which the relevant posts was directed was not whether, when and to what extent any given defendant formed the mens rea sufficient to support a conviction for some degree of homicide. It was whether what occurred was a summary execution. It was not.

For an illustration of summary execution see the shooting down in the street of Viet Kong Captain Nguyễn Văn Lém by South Vietnamese General Nguyễn Ngọc Loan in February 1, 1968, during the Tet Offensive.

A summary execution is an execution in which a person is accused of a crime and immediately killed without the benefit of a full and fair trial.

This literally is what happened to Tyre.

Exactly - follow police directions. You wont get hurt. It's so GD simple it's painful.

Why is no one answering this?

Are you asking this in full awareness that the outcomes of that perspective are nonetheless very different for some groups of people than others?

Citation please? Show me the video or story of a white male/female resisting arrest violently and repeatedly and the outcome of their final arrest. I’ll wait….

You'll wait? Fabulous. Which is [IT], "never" or "violently and repeatedly?" (I'll wait, now. )

(corrected for typo, TIA)

So...nothing? You actually have nothing to say or prove? People who follow directions do not get chased or otherwise hurt. Dude - I'm tired of you not having a real point. Quit deflecting and answer if you possibly can - prove it.

It would be simple if it were true. But it’s not, by the way the cops were charged with kidnapping . I’m not sure anybody wouldn’t run from a person that was kidnapping them.

Relevant. Stop with the knee-jerk defense of dirty cops. Unless you’re one yourself.

Stop resisting arrest

Oh sure, so simple. Explain to me while Daniel Shaver still executed by cops even though he WAS following instructions:

The cop was even acquitted!

You are just flat out wrong. People who follow direction get beaten and killed.

It’s ok. You don’t get it. You haven’t realized that different people have different experiences, which, in real life, can lead to different outcomes— a concept that, well, is “so GD simple that it’s painful.” Nice that your situation worked out well for you though.
