The Trump Women and their Fashion Mishaps - Part Three

I can’t believe Usha Vance wearing pants and a top to go to a parade with three young children is really that remarkable. I mean I guess heels and a dress would have been an option, but have you ever actually taken kids to a parade? Since JD had comments to deliver, she was primary caregiver and should be comfortable. Had she been dressed up you’d all be piling on about how why she wasn’t dressed appropriately to take care of them at a long parade. She can’t win either way.

THIS ^^^. The comments about Usha Vance are so predictable. No matter what she wears, no matter the event, weather, occasion, etc. - the harpies on this thread will pick it apart. I like most of what she decides to wear (not everything, but most), but I particularly like that SHE decides what she'll wear, not someone else. I guess it's a bonus that she triggers some of these self-appointed critics. I'd hate to see what they would show up wearing.

Everyone else took it as a serious state event to honor Trump's birthday and dressed in more formal business attire. Your outfit can be cute but you can't really have nailed it if you look like "the cheese stands alone" who was the only one who didn't get the dress code memo.

Exactly. Honestly if I saw a mom wearing that at the 4th of July parade in my parents' beach town, I'd be like, okay best dressed! It was a lovely outfit for A patriotic parade. It was not the right outfit for THIS patriotic parade.

I stand by my earlier statement that it's like no one is bothering to tell her, or maybe they do and she just thinks she's too good to follow the rules. Maybe she just doesn't notice or care? To be honest, it's incredibly weird she and JD presumably left the house at the same time, she saw him in his suit and tie, and didn't realize it was more formal than she was anticipating. If my husband and I were going to an event, and I came downstairs wearing her outfit but saw my husband in a suit and tie, I'd be like...oh, shit, do I need to go change?

Yes, a more apt comparison would be looking at Princess Kate at the last parade she took her kids to (Trooping of the Colour). How is she dressed and how are her kids dressed? This is clearly how the rest of the Trump admin were viewing this event vs Usha.

Oh, please. I love Kate Middleton and think she's a fabulous style icon. But the BRF at the Trooping of the Colour is NOT the same thing - at all. We don't have a royal family, and that's a good thing. No one expects her (or Melania) to affix a fascinator in their hair.

Aww— cutest family!!!

I love her outfit. Lacy white top, tailored red pants, white heels. Very modern and yet patriotic.

The outfit is inappropriate for the event (what's new), but I don't hate it for something else. It would've looked cute at the picnic last night.

The outfit is perfectly appropriate for watching a parade. Good grief.

For you. Not for the wife of the Vice President. Good Grief.

Nah. I'd much rather see a young Second Lady look her age while also looking appropriate and comfortable. Sorry!

Parade look:

I know that skirt length is in style now but I hate it so much.

Very 1930s. I'm picturing some woman running the orphanage.

Were you adopted?

OMG, just stop. If she wasn't smiling, you'd complain about that. She's fine.

+1. I hate this admin as much as the next person, but she just looks happy and excited to be there (may or may not be genuine). Not smug at all.

Say what? A women running an orphanage? You sound so dumb. She is in a classic 2 piece and looks stylish and beautiful. I just don’t understand how ppl can’t objectively critique fashion. She looks sophisticated and pulled together.

Ah yes when I see white heels I definitely think “modern” AYFKM

This is a great outfit for attending the 4th of July on the Mall when you have seats to the concert. Or for riding in a convertible next to your candidate husband in a Labor Day parade. This clearly called for something one or two levels above/more professional and you can tell because she’s dressed more casually than every other woman there.

No, certainly not, but Melania was dressed closer to Kate's style than Usha was.

Usha looked perfectly fine but per usual, she doesn't quite match with the gang. Did she misplace her Plastics style guide?

She looks like Miss Hannigan.

I don't think she ever received one! It almost feels like Melania is keeping her out of the loop!

The pants were not tailored. They were extremely tight around the waist and they appeared to be cropped, but I can't tell from the photos wear the hem was. These pants were off the rack, and they fit poorly. I am not going to comment on whether they were appropriate for her role, but anyone can see that they don't fit.
