The Mosler car is not missing. The single news source that mentioned a missing red car is an outlier, and that has been contradicted by charging documents that state police looked all over the car for the money, a manila envelope, and a red bag and found nothing. The red Audi is pictured in the driveway in crime scene pictures.

All we know is assistant was "let go" from track. Could be seasonal staffing or cutbacks. No one has said he was fired. The assistant was a bit "gee whiz" about his new job, and he certainly made intentional minor misstatements to police, but there is no indication that he was involved in the robbery, torture, arson, or murders.

Agree!

Yes. If assistant had gotten wind of this plot I think he would have reported it immediately to SS or police.i see him as sloppy with sensitive info and as maybe a sort of dupe or pawn for wints

Accused D.C. killer Daron Wint used hostage money for $1,000 cab ride to flee NYPD manhunt in Brooklyn: sources

Daron Wint used the cash, part of a $40,000 payment made as he held Savvas Savopoulos hostage in a $4.5 million D.C. mansion, to pay his fare back to the nation’s capital, the sources said Saturday.

Wint allegedly used the illicit bankroll to cover the tolls and provide a nice tip to the cabbie who kept him one step ahead of the law enforcement pursuit.

So does the cab driver lose that money now? I assume the cash is seized as evidence? Do the police provide new bills for the fare or is the driver simply stuck eating that fare and tolls and gas and expenses back to nyc?

I think the family should offer to pay for the deceased housekeepers funeral so her family doesn't have to beg for money on GoFundMe.

I am going to donate. however, I thought the same thing.

Is there a link to the GoFund site so people can find it and donate to the housekeeper's funeral expenses? I would donate.

Yes, would someone provide a link? I'd like to donate too.

The police investigation is now centered on the $40,000, which had been extracted from a Bank of America account by other America Iron Works employees

So the big question now is the possibility of other accomplices. But what I can't make sense of is why only one would leave in the porche. How did the others get there and leave? Why would one take the porche (risky move) to get away unless there was no getaway car. No getaway car - then they are all in the porche. Get away car then they are all in the getaway car.

So unless there was some kind of incriminating evidence in the porche that had to be destroyed (unlikely) or unless there was no getaway car and the porche driver dropped the others off at the metro and then set fire to the proche to destroy any dna (also unlikely because too risky to drop off at metro without being seen or remembered).

The other option is one of the killers just wanted to drive a porche and figured this was his chance?

Or there were no accomplices and no getaway car and one person somehow created such terror and destruction? does the suspect own a car?

Thank you! It has been a week and a half. I would imagine the family would need cash ASAP. I dont want to see the funerals though. Don't even want to think about it. But I will donate.

Anonymous wrote:Reason for letting 4 seeming accomplices go without arrest is simple: under the Sixth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, certain "speedy trial" rights attach at the moment of arrest. There's a clock that starts, and prosecutors have a limited amount of time within which to obtain an indictment. If they don't, the charges get dismissed. No one wants anybody connected with this crime to be sprung on this basis. With Darron Wint, prosecutors had telltale DNA evidence placing him at the scene of the crime. Easy indictment. The others were clearly involved after the fact, but it may take time and more thorough analysis of evidence to place them at the scene. If they had a role in torturing and murdering this family, you don't want them convicted simply as accessories; you want them charged as principals. I'm sure that arrests will come in the next couple of weeks, and meanwhile, these folks are being watched like hawks.
Thanks for that information. I realized that I've been thinking of Wint as the ringleader but all we know is that his DNA was on the pizza. He could just be a peon and one of the others could have been the ringleader. Hope everyone gets what they deserve.

I don't know the answers to these questions, but Wint had bragged before about his "skills" with a knife. Just awful what this poor family had to endure. Can't imagine being tied up and fearful for your ten year old son.
