Lively/Baldoni Lawsuit Part 2

I'm not a lawyer but I don't understand why Wayfarer agreed to this settlement. They are still under the hook for tens of millions if not more in damages and can't appeal? This seems like they just pled guilty and have to take whatever comes.

Exactly. It obviously wasn't organic and it will 100% cease when the contract ends. Out of the $60 million this futile effort allegedly cost, I'm assuming literally millions of dollars were pissed away on "cyber narrative control." A fool and their money...

The sad thing to me is that you might actually believe this. Just... whoa.

Every Hollywood PR pro basically agrees with this take as does the general public. You're the outlier.

Actually I'm a real person who is a Blake supporter and a member of the "general public." Which is how I know you're wrong.

Actually, I'm a real person who is NOT a Blake supporter and a member of the "general public." Which is how I know you're wrong. Woah, keep being astonished people see through the machinations.

Has it occurred to you that after nearly 300 pages of back and forth in this thread, there are people who support both sides and simply don't agree on what happened here or who is at fault? I can see the appeal of believing that anyone who disagrees with you must be a "bot" or a paid supporter or something, but it's just not true. There are real people who agree with Blake and thing Justin/Wayfarer are in the wrong here. Obviously we recognize there are also people who think Blake lied and this is all her fault -- I'm not going to pretend you are not a real person or call you a bot. I believe that you really believe what you say here.

But only one side insists the other side isn't real. Only one side fills comment sections with hateful rhetoric to bully and harass anyone who supports Blake. And then that same side claims that Blake supporters *must* be fake because they don't do the same thing to Justin and his supporters. But it's actually just a difference in approach. It would never occur to me to go write nasty comments on Justin's IG -- that seems mean and unnecessary. It would never occur to me to follow pro-Justin content creators so that I could harass them in the comments, it seems like a waste of my time and, again, unkind.

I don't know why Justin supporters are so vicious. But the lack of vicious, aggressive online behavior from Blake supporters is not proof to me that we are not real. It's evidence perhaps of a different value set.

You don’t even need to go back five pages to find a Blake supporter saying that the Justin supporters are all fake (coupled with some ridiculous manosphere word salad) or repeated claims of sock puppeting (false, btw). The Blake supporter (s) get no respect because of this gaslighting, which you are also perpetuating.

I don't think the Justin supporters on this thread are all fake. I do think there are bots and fake accounts engaged in upcoming/down voting activity in Reddit, as well as engaging in the brigading on Blake's IG (when comments were open) and on tabloid comment sections and the comment sections for people who support or even are associated with her.

These are separate things. There are obviously people who genuinely support Justin. There is also clearly "inorganic" behavior online going after Blake and anyone even mildly associated, plus flodfing comment sections. Both can be true.

If Blake were paying for bots, why wouldn't she pay for positive comments in those same places?

If this was truly inorganic behavior, the reactions to Blake at the Met gala would have been completely different.

Instead, she was getting massive side eye. No celebrities posed for photos with her. Everyone was keeping their distance and rolling their eyes.

It’s a bit much to try to suggest that Justin Baldoni controls A-listers at the met gala.

Is it really that difficult to believe Blake is an unlikable, aging actress and the backlash is real? It’s insane to insist that every negative reaction to revelations of horrible things she’s done is part of a calculated smear campaign orchestrated by Justin Baldoni. That’s tin foil hat level of crazy.

DP. I don't understand the connection here. Celebrities were not swarming around Blake and anyone associated and screaming epithets and she's a liar. That's what Baldoni supporters do online (sadly, I think at this point they are mostly real people).

I saw a bunch of red carpet pics of Blake that looked the same as anyone else's red carpet pics. Maybe you're right and there are less pictures of her with celebrities than there are of others. Maybe celebrities are ignoring her and not wanting to be pictured with her. That's... fine and reasonable human behavior. That's what you should do if you don't like somebody. Just as Lively and others did not want to be photographed with Justin.

It would be perfectly rational for Baldoni supporters to ignore Lively that way but that's not at all what they do. They stalk the comments sections to find open comment posts about not only Lively but others in the cast who did not adequately support Justin, and any interview with Lively or her husband. That's pretty insane behavior.

I actually don’t think the reaction to Blake has been insane. It’s an astonishing abuse of power. I’m sure a lot of celebrities and famous people engage in this behavior, but we saw it with our very own eyes.

If I had been in a coma for the past 18 months and I woke up and someone was telling me some of the stuff that went down I just wouldn’t believe them. I really wonder how many people Blake and Ryan have totally screwed over, gotten fired, and just ended their careers. The only reason any of this came out is because literally they poked the bear of someone worth 3 billion who was not going to play. But I’m betting a lot of people who have come up against them to this point just didn’t have those kinds of resources.

It’s not fair and that unfairness really speaks to a lot of people. That’s where a lot of the hatred comes from. It doesn’t surprise me at all that people take time and energy to post things on comments. It’s going take a while for her to retreat from this.

100%. Unhinged parasocial behavior, ample evidence of that on this thread.

At this point I think Blake is just trolling people and wanting the hate comments to roll in. Maybe any publicity is good publicity? I don’t know, but her standing on the red carpet and saying how shy she was… That turned a lot of people off.

The celebrity hairstylist Justin Anderson did a hilarious reel on it.

Totally agree.

And don’t forget, Martha Stewart hates BL and RR and that’s all I need to know

lol pick a lane! Is the negative press a smear campaign and inorganic bots? Or is it that Blake’s behavior finally caught up with her and people do not like her?

Do you know what "DP" means on this board? Besides, the other poster did say there are some real Baldoni supporters online, including on here, along with bot activity.

What I think the other poster and I agree on is the massive hate is beyond "not liking." I don't like Justin, I make that known on the posts discussing the case, but I would never dream of going to write something on his instagram. The hate is so over the top and pervasive that no one can have open comments anywhere. That feels fake. It feels like it's paid shills because why else would anyone do this (I don't even mean just the posting, I mean checking all the posts to see if comments are open and then posting those links and screenshots on reddit, etc). I'm thinking it may not be paid shills anymore because people really are so spun up about this, and that's just sad, but none of it feels normal or organic. It is not an accurate reflection of what the "general public" thinks, it's a reflection of what pro-Baldoni people who are obsessed with the case think.

Because they aren't paying Blake a dime. The Court isn't going to grant her 47.1 for a bunch of reasons, including that there have been no evidentiary findings. The clause is only there to let Blake pretend she didn't give up her claim for nothing.

They are desperately trying to throw out buzzwords like patriarchy, misogyny, faux ally and accusing Maga and the manosphere of being Baldoni's supporters. It's the Reynolds/Lively playback. Say it enough times and maybe it will stick. They are patting themselves on the back so hard they might break an arm with the pathetic and transparent attempt of a "victory" lap.

Wait.

So, now you believe that there are real people who support Justin Baldoni?

Your initial post is that Justin paid for bots and an inorganic smear campaign. Now you’ve moved the goal post that these are real people who strongly dislike Blake and are too mean online.

lol pick a lane!

Again, you don't understand how social media works or who uses it. If you show interest in a topic by so much as liking a post, the algorithm will show you post after post on that topic. No one is searching for anything.

The Blake Bot keeps trying to make the argument that no one cares about social media or I guess, now it's only weirdos care about social media. But this entire case exists only because Blake and other celebrities really, really, really care about whether they are getting more negative or positive interactions on social media. Blake couldn't believe how unpopular she was, and looking for a scapegoat, found one in Wayfarer. Only after discovery and continuing negative responses to her, its obvious she really is just that unlikable.

The celebrity hairstylist Justin Anderson did a hilarious reel on it.

Blake spent a week or so posting about how she was the spokesperson for all women. Then, after dropping her claims in their entirety for no money, she does the most superficial thing she can think of, as quickly as possible. She has a terrible team and terrible instincts.

(Obviously the new "really Baldoni got paid" claims were entirely spurious, but sure, keep claiming it's Blake people who have been trolls in this thread...)

How is it more pro-Blake than originally reported?

It's not, she got absolutely nothing. All the lawyers know the 47.1 motion will be dismissed, probably relatively quickly as Liman will want to close the docket.

There are specifically posts on reddit where Baldoni supporters post comment sections and celebrate how bad the comments are for Lively and implicitly encourage other supporters to swarm them with more posts. This isn't just something popping up on your algorithm and you liking it or briefly commenting. This is not at all normal use of social media.

Does "caring about social media" mean harassment? No one is arguing Lively doesn't care about social media, it's obviously the nexus of her case. I just know I have zero desire to go on Baldoni's wife's mother's day post to say what a POS he is but I bet people will do that to Lively if she has her comments open.
