Also curious about this. It was posted earlier in the thread somewhere that CB had known about his affairs before in LI. I can't find the post but there was something about them moving here to try to get him to change or something. Here is one post about knowing about his affair 10 years ago. How many of his affairs did she know about? Clearly not all as he complained to one of his affair partners about not wanting her around.

It's definitely a sign of an unhappy family in SOME cases. Another sign was his FB page that had photo of him and his dog...no family. Before you say maybe they didn't want that public- Christine's profiles are all public and have pics of their child.

You are really reaching here, to the point of sounding ridiculous. Lots of people only put their kids on their Christmas cards- in some cultures, it would be considered vain to send out a picture of yourself, but kids are okay because they’re growing and changing every year. A lot of people see Christmas as being about and for children, so their Christmas cards keep the focus on children, not grown adults.

There are lots of reasons to think something was very, very wrong with this guy and his relationship with his wife(and the human race in general with the way he was able to use an innocent man to try to hide his actions), but putting a picture of a child on a Christmas card is not one of them. Please.

One of the most chilling details from the last WaPo article: BB did not ask paramedics about his wife, as they were trying to save her life. He only asked if JR had a pulse.

What was any of it even for? Thrill kills? They were arrested and will go away for a very long time. They have to be psychos. A divorce would be so much easier for them, and sparing all the innocents.

Not psychotic -- that means they have mentally broken with reality -- like a person who has schizophrenia or a person who is on LSD or something where they think a tree is talking to them. THAT is "psychotic."

They are surely narcissists --- they think their needs are the only important needs and the rest of the world is subservient to them. Non-psychotic people do really, really bad things ALL THE TIME. EVERY MINUTE of EVERY DAY!

Psychotic people deserve our sympathy. They live tortured lives. These two (BB and JM) do NOT deserve our sympathy. THey know fully well what they were doing and didn't care. They figured they could outsmart everyone. It is a tragedy that the little girl will eventually know that she shares genes with someone SO conniving, callous, and deceptive. That alone would be hard to accept -- that you are directly related to someone SOOO hard-core cruel and cold.

Now we know why JM hasn’t pled. With these facts and planning, the prosecutor will want real jail time. She is a threat to society. At some point they will need to decide how much they need her or whether the other evidence is enough. The goal should be nailing BB.

I believe they have enough physical evidence to find them both guilty. It is not and either or question right now. The prosecution has already stated they will go forward with JM’s trial next month. They are not currently offering her a deal and they will not unless she were to give testimony that damns BBs case, and even if they offer her a deal it wont be time served, she still physically did a progressively fatal shot ending Joe’s life along with BB. They both are guilty and they both will pay for what they have done, no jury alive won’t clearly see their guilt.

I agree with most of what you said. I’d just be surprised if we had any insight into what plea discussions have been had, if any.

Not a lawyer but deal with federal cases. We always hear about the hazards of litigation.

Both sets of my grandparents were sending out Christmas cards with pictures of their kids in them back in the 60s. Photo Christmas cards have been a thing for a very long time, not just the last 20 years.

+1. Would also say most families I know only put the kids on the Christmas card. Heck sometimes the grandparents put only the grandkids on the Christmas card. I would say those who post photos of their entire family on a Christmas card are more atypical than typical.

That is not my experience at all! Usually the people that don’t include themselves are upset they gained weight or don’t like pictures of themselves.

My experience has been that people who include themselves with their kids on a card are people who are really stuck on themselves. The kind who would be judgmental about other people gaining weight.

She knew he had cheated for years with many people, it likely was a sad, lonely marriage.

I was not so surprised by that, he had just been in a state to repeatedly stab her. Stabbing is close and visceral.

I was more surprised he didn't mask his feelings toward her better as part of the "staging" AND that he had been talking about offing her for YEARS. That beggars belief.

Poor Christine. I cannot imagine the emotional climate in their marriage and home in light of the above, esp over such a long period. Maybe part of the reason she was so close to the prior AP is because BB was so distant and cold. Horrible.

Thanks for that detail. The child was not in the "romantic" pics in the media that were introduced in court.

He seems so cold, surprised he has many friends tbh.

Enough with the holiday card posts, that was exhausted on the closed thread long ago.

For anyone who knew/knows them IRL, how did Christine see in the 1-1.5 years leading to the murders? She had agreed to extend Juliana for another year just a few months before. But did not seem nearly as close to her as she had to the prior AP. Did she and BB work opposite shifts a lot? Just seems like the vibe would have seemed off if he was planning this even before JPM.
