| If you run as your primary exercise/activity, do you do other exercises to compliment your running? What kinds of things do you do? |
| Yes! I could never just run, I don't think it's a good idea. I do a variety of other things and have over the years. Definitely weight train, spin, swim, pilates, boot camp, etc. Right now I run about 3 days a week and the other things another 3+ days a week (so I'll run plus weight train on 1-2 of those days). I know a lot of people who only run and they are invariably the ones who are injured often. Plus, running is just not enough for real fitness, you've got to do something else with it. |
| I try to swim once a week and do zumba once a week. Occasionally spin or bike. I'm lazy about weight training. I run 3x a week. |

I used to just run but I have started mixing in Crossfit and I think it is making a great difference.

| I run 30-35 miles per week, and do a regular strength training plan to complement that. Not sure if the strength training has made me less injury prone, but it's definitely helped me get faster. |
PP here--just noting that I haven't had a running-related injury in almost 7 years. I did a lot of work on running form after a bad injury, and it's been all clear sailing ever since. |

I do yoga twice/week (fairly intense vinyasa flow), plus two days a week of HIIT. I run between 20-25 miles/week, most of them with the double jogger.
Attending to my strength and flexibility makes a huge difference for running. |

Yes, because I worry I'll get hurt if I don't.
I run 20-25 miles per week, generally on alternating days. 2-3 mid-length runs and a longer run on the weekend. On the off days, I lift for 20-30 minutes, all body parts, and do 30 minutes of lower-impact cardio. (typically on the arc trainer, but occasionally a bike.) Twice a week I do yoga. I also use the foam roller whenever anything is sore. I've stayed mostly injury-free for the last 20 years of running. |
| I run 30+ per week. I keep telling myself I will lift also or do other cross training, but I hardly ever have time or motivation to actually do it. I used to suffer injuries when I ran more sporadically, but since I've started running more regularly, my use injuries have largely disappeared. I still occasionally twist an ankle when I trip or land funny, but that's just clumsiness, not lack of cross training. |
