Travel Soccer teams around NOVA let's discuss

Hey, remember when we were trying to guess who'd be in NCSL U11 Div1 in the spring?

NCSL just posted the fall standings. So my guess would be:

Herndon Estudiantes Black
Bethesda South Green
Bethesda South Blue
SYC Lions Blue
CALV MD International
Rush Academy Blue
Laurel Lions White
St. Mary's Scorpions Premier
A3 United
Arlington Blue

Maybe instead of the second Bethesda South team ...
SAC United Blue
FCSC United Black
Reston Blue

OK then, when you wake up, please check the end of what I said:

We're a long, long way from getting that sort of thing to work here. The infrastructure that has built up for generations elsewhere is something MLS has been trying to do since the league nearly collapsed in 2001. And they're trying to do it in an environment in which soccer isn't the primary, secondary or tertiary sport, and soccer fans have scores of live games to watch from around the world on any given weekend. (If you get NBCSN along with Extra Time, you get more live Premier League games on TV and the Internet than the typical English residence.)

Everyone says we need to end pay-to-play. They usually get quiet when you ask how they plan to pay for it.

I'll use smaller words from now on. I didn't realize coaches were reading. My bad.

Got it. So to get back to my other question then, what obtainable blocks can we use now to get there?

+100

I only give a shit how my kid is developing not if a team is winning...at 10.

I've seen kids in first teams with god-awful first touch.

Yes, yes, development over winning. Yes, we get it. But some people were curious about who their kids might be playing in the spring. If you'd prefer that they wait until the Friday before a game to figure out where they're driving, coolio.

100% of the problem in this thread is MFs concerne about kids soccer under the age of 16

Spring season is 5 months away.

It's gross to be this invested in a 10-year old soccer league. Get a life.

I know -- all these parents concerned with their own kids on a parenting board! Can you believe it! We should all be talking about the upcoming U18 DA showdowns because those are so incredibly important to everyone in this area! We shouldn't be talking about the thousands of families that play U14 and under and aren't in DA, EDL or even CCL. They should go find a parenting board ... oh wait ...

That said, here's interesting news -- D.C. area likely to get another DA club. Maybe VDA?

That's the whole point of this dumb ass thread. It's not about U16 and above teams. It's about little kids and it's pretty pointless. The conversations should be about what Club/teams are good at the older age groups. Half of the people arguing this bullshit has a kid who won't even be on an A team when soccer matters or won't even be playing soccer

I'm not sure why people are giving you such a hard time. I was very interested to see how the divisions ended up looking in NCSL u11 years ago when my son played. We had already developed a few pretty intense team rivalries by then and had other teams we enjoyed matching up against, so we had a lot of interest in knowing what the upcoming seasons would look like. It's actually possible to care about development and winning at the same time.

Because we're parents.

We're parents of little kids.

You want to talk exclusively about U16 A teams? BigSoccer.com. Enjoy.

OK, so maybe a few people in this thread aren't parents. (We hope.)

Probably coaches.
