Yep. And the principal needs to go for hiring an unqualified person to head up school security and putting students at risk. Plus, I heard Reid spent something like $200k to hire someone just to work in her image!? Can that be anywhere close to true? If so she needs to be fired, not disciplined.

How did the board know?

Reid would have absolutely informed the board of those text messages on 11/19.

31 transfers? or 31 ineligible players?

Matteo Dunne said 31 transfers

Where did he say this?

The DSS was forced to transfer in the spring and the current DSS has been appointed principal of Centerville. There is now an interim DSS. There were other transfer not being mentioned, 8th graders who are now 9th graders transferred as well. They came to Hayfield to play football as well.

Thompson corrected his letter to say We made the decision.

I would think Fairfax gets the bye, their opponent cannot play. They also are the one non-fcps team.

Lol what? Fairfax HS is part of FCPS
Not so simple, City of Fairfax has their own sb. Look it up. They sent a letter to fcps sb a few days ago complaining about this mess, that’s how I found out.

Fairfax HS is absolutely part of FCPS and the patriot district: https://www.district4va.org/g5-bin/client.cgi?G5genie=1166

Fairfax High School is not FCPS. They are City of Fairfax Public Schools.

Too bad Megan McLaughlin isn’t on the board anymore. No way she would have sat around all school year while this corruption happened, especially when Braddock district kids were impacted.

The players dedicated countless hours to improving their skills and representing their team, only to have their opportunity for success taken away due to decisions beyond their control. These young athletes simply followed the instructions given by the adults in charge, trusting in their leadership. It’s crucial that the consequences for this situation target the adults who caused the problems, not the players who are now unfairly bearing the brunt of the fallout.

1. If any of these young men were forced to do what they did, they should come forward.
2. These young men worked hard after bullying other players to get them to leave. It has been widely documented.
3. If these young men didn't have even the slightest inkling that what they were doing was untoward, they shouldn't be playing football and instead they should be spending a TON more time in the classroom.

I have to assume this is the new pivot in the Hayfraud talking points.

It teaches them right from wrong and that bad decisions have consequences. Let them consider it a valuable life lesson many probably haven't learned yet.

+1. Spot-on. They clearly haven't learned this message from their parents or coaches. Sucks that they have to learn it from strangers, but better that than not at all.

Then why does their website have FCPS in it? https://fairfaxhs.fcps.edu/

(I’ll note that my children do not go to Hayfield and don’t play football, so not sure why I’ve gotten at least three rather long emails.)

Here’s a summary.

None of this actually matters.

Now Freefield parents are just trying to brush this off as if it is not a big deal? Man this is sad.
