wouldn't it make sense that the photo of the knife/chains is a photo that JR sent to "Anastasia9" (the name of the person he thought was CB). Of course he would send pictures of items that are clean.

Then the other picture of the knife on the floor with all the blood is a picture from the scene shortly after the killings.

There aren't 2 knives. Just pictures at two different times.

They figured they could outsmart everyone. It is a tragedy that the little girl will eventually know that she shares genes with someone SO conniving, callous, and deceptive. That alone would be hard to accept -- that you are directly related to someone SOOO hard-core cruel and cold.

Narcissistic and STUPID. Did neither of them ever watch true crime or detective shows? These complicated plots to get rid of an inconvenient spouse rarely work out IRL. Brendan especially should have known that forensic data and detective work would eventually find out the truth, given that he was an LEO himself. He's clearly not too bright.

He didn't want to split the money. He did not make all that much at IRS. 1/2 assets might not have appealed as much to AP, looking for the good life in US.

BB had been thinking about this for YEARS and told another affair partner how it would be easier if Christine was not around. This was about control and dominance and resentment toward CB. Joe was wrong place, wrong time, rando patsy ordered up on the internet.

The bolded doesn't make complete sense to me because I'm sure he needed CB's income as a nurse (likely higher than his) to help pay for the mortgage on their expensive home. Unless she had a life insurance policy that would pay off some or all of the mortgage upon her death, how would he be able to continue paying off the mortgage on just his salary? They are/were only in their 30s I believe so couldn't have had a lot of shared assets to split. More likely he didn't want to pay alimony and/or child support and have to go through the hassle of a divorce and shared custody.

Thanks, that was me that was confused about the photos of a very similar(same) knife in two obviously different conditions.

That sets the likely timeline of the deaths then. ie JR entered the home with the murder weapon that was used to kill CB...
