What words do your children mispronounce in fun ways? Mine insists on 'gorilla bars' for granola bars Also ska-betty, which sounds like such a cool skater chica, but she means spaghetti. |

These are not mispronunciations but I will share anyway:
1. As kids get older they learn proper pronunciation for words and proper phrases (it's not the 'toot fairy' - she's not a farter). Some of them are super cute though, and we got a bit sad about DD learning the right way to speak. She's 11, and the only leftover cute mistake she has is "may you" as in "May you please hold my bookbag while I do cartwheels?" 2. The other day we were at the library. Me: I'm going to go look at the new fiction. DD: The NUDE fiction?!?! Me: What? NO! NEW, not NUDE! DD: Oh! Me: Nude fiction would be ... porn. DD: Ew! Me: Don't worry - libraries don't have porn. DD: Thank goodness (skips off to children's section) Librarian who overheard us: Actually we do have porn Me: I am totally okay with keeping this lie alive. |

My oldest did that for the longest time as well. When my 8yo was younger she would say "st" instead of "th". So "thirsty" became "stirsty". My favorite was that "thanks" and "thank you" became "stanks" and "stank you". When people would give her gifts, it sounded like she was calling them stanks. More recently, we were playing Pictureka and my husband was not performing to her standards. She told him he needed to bring his A game. Then explained that he should get some game and out an A on it with a sharpie. When DH started to explain that's not what A game means, she said, "I know. I Millified it!" (Her name is Milly) |

| Cute thread...my 3 yr. old still calls bananas bayna, spaghetti is sketties and lemonade is manmade...and the best is grandma also known as magah. She now can say grandma, but magah has stuck and so her grandma is called Magah by many in the family now. |

Pine comb. My DS literally took it to his hair. And when his playdate friend saw what he was doing she picked up a pine cone and started combing her hair too!
