ZOMG. It feels like we're watching someone have a meltdown. Really sad.

And Arlington is, in the end, a small community.

Which is why it was so disheartening to watch neighbors trash teachers on AEM.

I’ve lost so much respect for my neighbors.

Agreed. I have co-workers in there and have to interact with them all day long while pretending I haven’t seen them act like total assholes. Has definitely changed me view of some people.

You seem very invested in trying to derail this discussion.

I'm all-in on the discussion. I do think though it's funny that no one has ever commented on the actual screenshots - the SB recall.

What is Turner's position on the SB recall? Let me guess - you'll skip right over that one again.

It's called deflection. And APE is very good at it.

Why are you attacking APE? Did you read The above? They stated that MT already spelled out her position on the SB recall buried in a AEM thread. If you want to read it, it is there. Scroll up. But I'm sure it's easier for you to attack APE.

She did not. Or if she did she deleted it.

I went back and read through every single post on that dumb thread.

No it was explained in the thread here. Sorry I wasn't clear. I just went into AEM and did a quick search for her name, his name & recall and found it. Cutting and pasting here for you.

BE: thanks for your questions. APE has on several occasions noted that there is no "APE lawsuit," and I've posted in this forum about it as well. As a candidate for School Board, I support measures which would return APS to in-person instruction for more days this school year, for those families and children who need/want it. I don't support measures that don't advance that cause, and you may count in that category the lawsuit and the recall. Finally, as several have already noted, neither the lawsuit or the recall are backed by APE (nor the Republican party to my knowledge, though I'm a Democrat).

Yes Miranda said she doesn't support the recall. But she is on the Steering Committee of APE and EHN's post said APE is considering a recall of Board members. It didn't say "I" or even "we." It said APE.

Of course they all want to run from it now that they got exposed and it looks bad....

and really what chance did they have to recall anyways?

+1. APE sure didn't like that being out there did they?

Anonymous wrote:Hi. I'm an APS teacher who found DCUM from AEM. I never comment anywhere, but when you're anon, you can be anyone, right?

APE's worst members are my nightmare and keep me up at night. They first blamed me for school facilities not being open. For me somehow being lazy when I've been working 60+ hour weeks. And now, that school aren't five days a week on a normal bell schedule, I'm somehow to blame too. I'm an easy target, because I'm the one in APS they interact with most.

But I want to say something to the Smart Restart group too. You don't represent me either. I'm vaccinated, and happy to be back in my classroom and to see everyone again. I care for your children and want all of them to succeed. I'm a better teacher in person. I worry about my virtual kids though, especially the ones that are not engaged. I know some of my colleagues don't feel the same way about returning to facilities, but the way you ram your message down AEM's collective throats turns many of the people in my school off too.

I'm sorry I saw that Twitter page. I'll try to forget it now. That person, whoever it is, speaks for nobody at all. What an embarrassment.

All I can say to both parent groups and everyone in the middle is to please dial it back. You're making me and many of my colleagues miserable. All of you.

Parent here who wants to say something to you too. Teachers who are now vaccinated no longer seem to care about the kids who are back in buildings without the protection you have.

Trollers be trolling. Nice.

Stay klassy Arlington!

All i will say about SR and APE is that one group has people infiltrating the other to take screen shots to try to “out” them in some way, while the other does not. That tells me a lot about who has integrity and who doesn’t.

I love our teachers, but it is so disheartening to watch/listen to so many refuse our students from receiving an actual in-person education. This past year is the dumbest down version of an education imaginable (thanks Dr Duran and Loft). It's pathetic and I wish more teachers and APS staff would advocate for more in-person education since they know it's what is best.

I'm not reading them there (how could I?) but they dump the bilge elsewhere

APE moderators have zero control over what happens on AEM, so I don’t know what you are looking for.

What screenshots are those? That some people follow the account? It's an anti-APE account, so it hardly seems surprising that folks who are on the opposite side of this debate are at least nominally interested in it. I follow all sorts of twitter accounts, some of whom I like and some of whom I don't. Has anyone else noticed that there are a bunch of troll accounts on both sides all over NOVA? No one is pure in this and everyone needs to grow up. Let's get back to the real issues please.
