DP who is not a member of APE. If reading posts in the APE Facebook group is that upsetting, why not unfollow the group? |
Not to mention the awful and unmoderated vitriol of AEM. |
Yes Miranda said she doesn't support the recall. But she is on the Steering Committee of APE and EHN's post said APE is considering a recall of Board members. It didn't say "I" or even "we." It said APE. Of course they all want to run from it now that they got exposed and it looks bad.... and really what chance did they have to recall anyways? |
MT is on steering, EHN is not. |
+1. EHN used to be on the steering committee but quit, so she really doesn’t speak for them anymore. |
+1000. Add another APS staff person who is tired of SR speaking for me. I'm fine with our school's arrangements of lunch and mitigation. Thanks for the air cleaners though. So weird to think that teachers are not a monolith. |
I’m also a DP and I agree that the anti-teacher comments on APE FB group are very off-putting. But to be fair, many of us are so far beyond the end of our ropes. Schools haven’t been open. I get that they are now, a little, but it took a year of them being closed for the vast majority of kids. I’m not saying that teachers aren’t working hard, but for me, it’s been a very disappointing and disillusioning time to be an APS parent. I can’t work from home, never have and never will, and this year I have done more to teach my kids than I would in any normal year. I also agree that the lawsuit brought by one APE member has its issues but APS had to settle one lawsuit in 2020 (pre-covid) and based on their treatment of kids with IEPs this year, more are coming. I wish either school board candidate would talk more about how APS is going to function with a fraction of its prior budget (or how they’re using federal funds if that’s where things are coming from now). |
I'm pretty sure the style of posting will be narrowed down pretty quickly from AEM / SR folks. She/he should be ashamed.. maybe their kids can give them some schooling on morals. |
LOL, the Twitter account has been locked down again. Their bravado didn’t last long... |
right there with you PP. APS leadership is the problem here, not teachers (signed - APE member) |
ZOMG. It feels like we're watching someone have a meltdown. Really sad. |
Parent here who wants to say something to you too. Teachers who are now vaccinated no longer seem to care about the kids who are back in buildings without the protection you have. |
And Arlington is, in the end, a small community. |
Of course you are. ![]() |
I'm curious too but not enough to put any energy into it. When you start talking about analyzing style of writing, you sound unhinged. (maybe you are?) |
