You don’t make 63k? |
There is plenty of data about spread in schools (and lack there of). But people choose not to believe it. https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/coronavirus/covid-19-data-insights/covid-19-outbreaks-by-selected-exposure-settings/ |
| Are they doing surveillance testing in those schools? |
no- nor is this a recommendation of the CDC. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/k-12-testing.html |
I don't know if you are APS, but this time line is completely inaccurate now. All will be back in mid Februrary. |
Those dates all appear to be for SpEd programs. I can’t find announced dates for general K-12 who aren’t receiving some sort of intervention. Similarly, I don’t think any Gen Ed kids K-12 are returning in person to APS in the winter. |
Yes, the one labeled TENTATIVE in all caps. |
It is a recommendation of most academics/ epidemiologists. The CDC also said people without symptoms shouldn’t be tested. And that schools are fine with 3 feet distancing. There’s been a ton of crap coming out of cdc. |
I was regretting picking DL and foreclosing any hybrid for the year til I saw this. I hope for the sake of those who did choose hybrid that this isn’t true. This is basically APS caving to APE and the Wash Post. Drama and fear of publicity over science and safety for staff and students. I hope they start to have fully staffed live school board meetings BEFORE they send teachers back to the classroom. |
Same 😔 |
+1 I posted almost the same on page 27. I am making less right now than I was 8 years ago if you look at inflation and the COL compared to all the years with no steps or part steps. It is pretty disgraceful. |
This. AND that all of central office is working in the office, not from home, before they tell us it is "safe" to send our kids into school. |
Teachers are dying all over the country. Google it. |
It completely screws those of us who picked hybrid but don't want hybrid NOW. I want hybrid when it is safe. |
Most recent was a young guy in cobb county ga on Christmas and the school admits he likely contracted it there. They can’t know for sure because THERE ISNT TESTING IN SCHOOLS But I guess some teachers can die so we can get more data |
