BRYC had the academy manager last season. Not sure if that is the case anymore but it did exist.

1-1.5 Team managers can manage a team. Had this setup for a few years with no problems and offer to pitch in when possible but for the most part, they can get it done. Spinning up some new folks that haven't done it before might be a bit of a learning curve but not difficult.

Also wanted to add that migrating it down to one person won't necessarily help with favoritism. We have a single travel manager and when the older teams are short players for a game, the manager's favorites get picked to sub every.single.time. Said manager has also taken on a semi-coach role which is extremely annoying because as far as I know he has no qualifications to actually coach.

If this question is in reference to tryouts, Este said 'it will be very fair because there will be lots of eyes at tryouts.'

May be fair but they are always a crap shoot. Impossible to really identify/evaluate a player in two days. There is always someone good that doesn't make the top team. Tryout at multiple clubs and go with which ever works best for you and your family.

Sounds like Baron is coming out for the top 06 team but he will be given the fairest of all evaluations. No other like the one that will be given.

Fair is in the eyes of the parents. What happens during the season if Este's favorite kid on the 2nd team plays with the 1st team, but that kid did not deserve to "move" up?

Have any outside of the club players started to attend SYC Blue team practices? Wonder if it's too early to start reaching out to coaches or if by invite only?

What were the supposed perks Academy Managers had? Our coach always made decisions about who got bumped up. PP seems to imply that their Academy manager did this.

It’s a good thing that’s SYC is taking back these responbilities. Does anyone know if this means parents no longer have to volunteer for the Virginian? That would be perfect

That's out of line. His dad's a complete ass but he seems like a decent kid. Was in over his head at DC but he's fitting in just fine at Arlington as a mostly Red player getting a few DA call-ups. His movement and game understanding are not great yet but he's obviously spent a good amount of time on his own working with a ball and his technical skills aren't bad at all. And he gets no support from his family. Not dad, not mom, not any of his aunts or uncles, ... only the secret service attends his practices and games.

And, ... he's a 13 yr old kid, so hold the cheap shots until you see what kind of adult he becomes.
