Who is right? Son accidentally took item - disagreement results

Ignore this. The dissenting poster always posts about 3-4 posts in saying the opposite of what is generally considered the appropriate response, and always trying to make you feel bad about yourself.

Accidents happen. You did your part in trying to meet her (figuratively) half way. Without a second adult in the house, you did the right thing by not waking the baby at 10pm. You could also offer to reimburse her for the new suit. Unnecessary but is an option. And yes, plenty of shops at the Jersey shore!

29 pages, and the OP has yet to come back. That is pretty sad.

There isn't just one dissenting poster here.

This is a parenting site, asshole.

I'm a Mom of 4. You ladies sound pathetic considering 10PM the middle of the night on a Friday.

You think nothing of loading your 4 kids into the car at 10 to drive an hour? I haven't reached that level of zen yet.

If it was to correct a wrong, absolutely. A hour-long round trip is not bad. You people are overly dramatic over this 30 minute drive to meet the Mom. But, of course, you think 10PM is the middle of the night.

If the drive was inconvenient, I would have arranged an uber drop-off. To do nothing was not cool.

Packing your 4 kids into your station wagon at 10pm is not cool either.

It's called accountability. Try it sometime.

You must be bored out of your mind if you think that qualifies as "accountability." Why don't you try taking on something of substance for a change?

So, IYO, only big issues matter?

We went to Hoyt's (addresses of locations below; we were at one in Ocean City). Bought new suit for $12.
Problem solved.

No need to spend money at a boutique even in Stone Harbor or Avalon and no need to detour to Target.
There are cheap bathing suit options everywhere at the beach.

Whose bathing suit did her child bring home? And if he didnt bring one home, is he in trouble for not looking after his things?

How is this sad?

Because the OP should have read all of this, and given an update. There are too many people that want advice and then run away.

I'm curious about what happened.

If you're a person of substance, big issues matter more than minor, trifling ones. Yes.

Maybe she never believed people would care enough to post more than 400 replies in two days and the big response outed her.

Presumably, the other woman and child went to the Jersey Shore and bought new swim trunks somewhere along the way. OP returned the shorts on Monday, or some time.

It's called being petty.

It's only 29 pages because people don't edit the quotes down.
