What a nonsense comment. Simply not true. But oh so pat to state H1B are "hard workers" but Americans are not.

Those H1B high tech workers are not earning $60K, by the way. They're earning $200K.

when will Democrats start helping US citizens before immigrants?

When will Republicans stop pushing for unregulated capitalism at the expense of the American middle and lower classes? This what you get when your one and only priority is corporate profits. Trump and his wealthy cronies won't do anything to help.

This doesn't make any sense. So, you think it's OK to eviscerate the middle class with H-1b's? When didn't Democrats give the globalist corporations only everything they ever wanted. When did Obama or Biden do anything about class stratification. Go get a platform that makes sense, then $-post.

The $100K isn't going to do a damn thing for you or most Americans. The companies will just offshore the jobs.

^PP is right. Unregulated capitalism leads corporations to stick to the American workers. Most civilized countries have a cap on executive pay; we don't. The gap is getting larger.

I don't condone violence but think about what happened to the UHC CEO who was murdered. These people make a sh(t ton of money while we the masses suffer -- high healthcare costs, which causes people to lose health insurance or having to choose between eating and medical care. That's capitalism. That's what Rs want.

It's the Dems who want to tax corporations and the rich more to help the middle class while Trump gives $20billion to a foreign country, applies tariffs which causes prices to rise, and hasn't done a damn thing else for the middle class.

Look at the election results yesterday. Perfect example of how people realize that the Rs aren't doing a damn thing for the middle class.

Oh, where'd you get that one, been hanging out down in the corporate HR department a little too much.

Again why are you giving them everything they want. Do you think corporations are fighting tooth and nail for those H-1Bs because they can just offshore them instead? There must be a cost.

I just don't think this sort of thinking is worthy of a vote.

? I've been working in the tech industry for 20 years, with mostly large tech corporations out in the silicon valley. They've all moved a lot of jobs offshore, and continue to do so. Not just tech jobs, but operations. They don't just offshore the jobs, but they outsource the jobs to large companies like Cognizant who hire people in cheaper countries like the Philippines and India.

How do you propose stopping a company from buying a service, because that's what outsourcing is.. it's buying a service to manage a company's operations.

You clearly don't work in the tech industry.

look, dont you get it by now?

We KNOW republicans are evil. no argument. They have NEVER been the party of the working class.

But what happened that Democrats have abandoned US workers. Democrats support and expand H1B, OPT, L1, H4EAD etc. They have NEVER pushed to repeal these worker replacement visas.

why? Why has the party of labor abandoned labor??

This is what is so disheartening! No one cares about the middle class in the US. It really seems like the US is becoming a developing country where there are predominately two classes- the wealthy class and the poor/ working class that struggles to get by.

So many policies that democrats pass are to help the poor but it is paid for by taxing and reducing services to the middle class because the wealthy can finagle how not to be affected.

Meanwhile the quality of life for middle class continues to decline- more crime, neglected infrastructure, rising health insurance costs from employers, rising prices for food, public schools are a mess unless you live in an expensive suburb.

Then you scrape by to send your kid to the state flagship for college and if they study STEM they are competing with international students who are using the OPT program so employers save 8% if they hire the international students. Employers can then exploit them and that becomes the standard for how many hours you are expected to work in a week.

I don't propose to stop them. My official position is I don't care what they do with a job that they have officially stated they will never consider me for (those bigots). EG They hire an Indian here or an Indian there, I don't care.

All things being equal I'm more than happy that they do not bring more bigots here.

The H1B “Best and Brightest” are the tail end of the bell curve.

the reality is the vast majority of H1Bs are low skilled entry level and are hired because they are cheaper.

Newly released gov't records show the vast majority of H-1Bs approvals are for entry & junior level jobs

83% at Wage Levels I & II -> Way below market salaries

These jobs can and should be filled by unemployed & underemployed American graduates. But the investor class demands cheap disposable labor.

In fact I hope they put Google out of business.

Finally a government that cares about its own workers.

US govt launches at least 175 investigations into potential H-1B abuse 'to protect American jobs'

The United States Department of Labour has said that it has launched 175 investigations into what it terms potential abuses of the US H-1B visa program.

Anyone that works with h1bs knows the rampant fraud and nepotism.

Not to mention that it was the Bushes, father and son, who established the H1B visa program and the F1 student visa STEM practical training extension.

**H-1B visa**: Established by **George H.W. Bush** (Immigration Act of 1990).
**F-1 STEM OPT**: Created by **George W. Bush** (2008 DHS rule).
