Rankings work in tiers. You clearly have no idea how hard it would be or how much money it would need to raise to add 8 points to its ranking to be where the other 2 are. |
Not Virginia or William and Mary though. William and Mary should be about 10 higher. Merced? 40 lower? Any other UC school, 10 lower. Including Berkeley and UCLA. |
| Lol at all the posters on here losing it over a college ranking service. There are multiple ranking services. This freaking thing is already at 29 pages. Get a life |
You get a life, Karen. |
Is this a morning projection/self-affirmation, Stuart Smalley? What does your mirror say? |
15 to 24 isnt a big numerical difference either. But I assume you won't say Emory and Columbia are peers. Ironically Emory and Berkeley are peer schools with similar selectivity. Davis is not nor ever will be. |
1) Attract more poors to your school (or Questbridge kids fraudulently claiming to be poor) 2) subsidize starting salary for the poors after graduation That’s the ranking, folks. |
Berkeley- 20-25 UCLA, Umcih, UVa- 25-30 UNC-30-35 GT,UT UCSD, UF, UCD- 35-45 |
What are you even saying? This makes no sense. Also, quit trying to lump UVA in with UCLA and Michigan. |
| William and Mary is underrated. Virginia residents are so lucky. |
You clearly have no idea how to read rankings. Their is not an 8 point difference. |
Georgetown also didn't use the Common App, which means kids are self-selecting out of applying which impacts that number. |
| Privates and Publics should be ranked separately like LACs. |
Different poster here and actually I would say they are peers. As would any rational adult aside from the college rankings obsessed nut jobs. They are both R1 reearch universities with top notch kids, fantastic professors, lovely campuses, deep resources, excellent pre-med and pre-law results, well-trod paths to Wall Street, high incomes after graduation, etc. I have no connection to either (well actually my kid was admitted to Columbia and waitlisted in perpetuity to Emory but attends neither) but I'm a rational human. Emory vs Columbia will not impact anyone's life one iota. |
Agree. They are often different applicant pools anyway. |
