Fairfax County Double Murder

DP. People are speculating about insurance because it is a motive.

This. Thank you.

He was making in the 60s just a few years ago as a matter of public record. You can be a killer and be financially extended. I hear it's called a dialectic.

I mean, don't let reality interfere with your opining and superiority.

Can’t argue with stupid. What he was making in 2018 in a different job for a different agency has nothing to do with his current salary. Surely you know that adults switch jobs all the time specifically to increase their salary? Come on.

If Joe and Christine were really having an affair, there would be at least a digital trail (texts, calls, etc.) We don't know for sure yet what was going on there, if anything.

Her expression in the mugshot is truculent. Maybe a few months behind bars will improve her attitude.

Anyone find other IG posts? The FOB one was a doozy.

Neighbors, any sightings of Brendan?

No, YOU have no idea of his finances, you are also just speculating. like other posters. It's not clear to anyone that he can afford to stay, he could be on the verge of bankruptcy for all we know and unless you are his accountant, that includes you. He could be living it up knowing a cage is likely in his future. We are all just guessing. Have you never heard of the concept of people living beyond their means?

The good taxpayers of the state of VA are on the hook for Juliana Peres Magalhaes, hopefully that will include Brendan Banfield very soon. It's possible he would have relocated back to Long Island but was told to stay in the area, we have no idea. It's very likely that he is or soon will be on leave as an FBI agent, does that reality get past your smug know it all mindset? Not to mention, cough, unemployable in LE, cough.

Do you see how mean and silly you are acting? It's like all the posters thinking he's pulling in $150k+ when a few years ago he was making $68k. Other people's IRL experiences have value too, not just your mean girl attitudes and everyone is speculating.

How they could go about their lives, splurge on new cars, go out to dinner, having held a gun and killed a man in cold blood and having brutally stabbed your wife and the mother of your child to DEATH, you know, the likely co-owner of the house, is beyond me

Your repeated, lengthy posts indicate that you are overly invested in this case. You need to remember that the cornerstone of our judicial system is that any accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty. That happens after a fair trial with an impartial jury. Your anonymous postings on this board would be slander if they are incorrect. Your dramatic spin on the publicly known facts that you present as factual is really just your opinion. You may be right that BB killed his wife, but right now he hasn’t been charged with that and your rants about his guilt and depravity don’t change that. I doubt you thought before a few days ago that the au pair would be charged with JR’s murder. We may end up being surprised with respect to BB as well, but you have already convicted him in your head.

What is the basis for the FBI paying him $100,000 more in your esteemed, well considered analysis? Based on what? You're so smart, explain it to the rest of us.

Why the outright fluffing for Brendan Banfield on this thread?

No one actually knows and who actually cares how much he makes? He's a monster who is likely to be charged with viciously stabbing his wife to death very soon, in a home where his 4 year old was present. When LE speaks of an ongoing investigation and that all involved are known to them, not many uncharged parties left.

What did the husband do for a living? Appears from the house and the au pair and everything else they were well off enough. Did Christine work?

Husband is/was FBI, Christine was a nurse. Seems like lifestyle would be a stretch on one income. Don't think he came from $, not sure about her. Even on fed/nurse income seems a bit of a stretch, but little girl started school this year so childcare costs almost over.

Not especially well off for this area, middle class. AP may have worked best for child care due to shift work.

If he's a GS-15, he's making at least $170. He had maybe a $600K mortgage at 2.75% interest. Easily affordable on that salary.

Why do you think he's a GS15? (not being snarky, seriously curious)

Age and experience.

Public records show before he moved to DC he was making $63,743 as a tax compliance officer. That was 2018/9ish.

Doubt that increased by almost 100K in a few years but, who knows. They were not rolling in money nor do I think their parents with fed or LE backgrounds were wealthy and subsidizing them. If there were insurance policies on Christine, wonder if recent?

Dummies, an insurance company will not pay out if there is an active investigation surrounding the death of the insured. People speculating here are such idiots.

DP. People are speculating about insurance because it is a motive.

No, people are saying he's living large on an insurance payout that may not even exist and even if it did, definitely would not have been paid out yet.

Give us your scenario including all that LE has said from day 1. Who do you think the stabber could be? LE has described Joe as a victim, so, was not him. Lay it out for us.

After seeing this were you genuinely surprised she was involved?

From 1980 to 2008, nearly 1 out of 5 murder victims were killed by an intimate partner (Cooper & Smith, 2011). In fact, available research shows that women are more likely to be killed by an intimate partner (husband, boyfriend, same-sex partner, or ex) than by anyone else (Catalano, 2013; Violence Policy Center, 2015).

Why would a grieving, uninvolved in the murders husband refuse to cooperate with LE, especially being LE himself?

We know that LE has charged Juliana with shooting Joe and LE believes Joe and Christine were both victims. If Brendan is not guilty and he believed that Juliana had also attacked and killed his wife Christine with a knife, as the only other possibility, wouldn't he speak to LE rather than take Juliana out to dinner? The "horrific" violent murder of your wife and the mom of your little child in your nice home would be a boner killer for most, no?

Why would he lie and say he shot Joe? Forensics proved otherwise. Why lie to the police, esp with own LE career on the line? How many explanations are there for that?

She's not that hot. Dime a dozen.

From who did Juliana get a gun? If it was his FBI service revolver why wasn't it with him when he went to work? They had a gun safe and a small child. Did he give it to her?

He doesn't look all that grief stricken, maybe that's a clue? They both look pretty pleased with themselves tbh.

Question for the BB stans, the ones who rush to aggressively defend his earning potential and "good name," like you were 12 and he was Taylor Swift - do you do this for others too? Prison pen pals and the like? Or just him? And if just him, why him? Genuinely curious.

I'd ask if a single one of you is a guy but we all know the answer to that one.

I agree with all of this, but we don’t know exactly when that picture was taken. She can post it whenever she wants framing it as current. It could have been months before the murders.
