Lacrosse
Its more financial, i think MCE will remain as MCE but under the St James umbrella? More Profit for St James I guess. |
I think they will eventually combine. St J is going to start working with the younger girls. There is a meeting later this month will all will be explained. It appears the MCE director that most dislike is not going anywhere in the near future. |
allot has to do with not wanting to do the commute. I mean really who wants to drive from Montgomery County where most of these girls are from out to Springfield or really anywhere in VA constantly for practices when there is a place here in the county now. That was the main factor when my DD left a couple years ago she made stars but that commute is what we were not willing to make. |

7th-grade lacrosse...look at the big picture, people, and Capital is not the end all be all for your future. The girls need to just keep grinding to keep getting better to be prepared for HS. These MS games are all part of the puzzle, win or loss. Girls who are fast and can play with two hands, are coachable, and not injured should be everyone's goal going into summer.
The world of club lax is changing poeple. The model of your same coach at every practice and every tournament is not how it is meant to be, and is not the best for player development. That is why you also want your MS player to go to different camps, to learn from different coaches. Coppermine has multiple teams in an age group/region and their director goes around to all the teams, and coaches fill in for each other, they have multiple fields. M&D and all of the regions under their corporate umbrella is running this way, and so is Ultimate, and YJ. Wake up. The STJ is taking the development model to the next level in the DMV, with unbelievable resources for MoCo players, from training in Bethesda, well-resourced/leveraged clinics and training offerings. STJ Stars is getting a lot of from MCE, including incredible coaches and recruiting, despite what the haters say. There has been no change in how MCE recruiting has been done since the beginning of the club, and STJ knows this. They would not have come to MCE if they had an issue despite people saying STJ just wants MD market share. STJ has integrity, think about it....the director is on the USA National Team..read her resume...I assume you all are smart people and can connect the dots. 2028s in MD and in VA are in an amazing spot. |
TLDR |
I'll shorten it for you blah blah blah. blah blah blah blah st james blah blah we think we are a better club than we actually are blah blah blah. we want all your money blah blah blah. |
Here are the key points if you don't have time to read: - Capital is not the only game in town anymore for high school - STJ is awesome and getting even more awesome by the second - 2028s are blessed to have STJ as an option for high school - Pride is garbage and not worthy of a mention |
The two summaries, while a bit snarky, were pretty funny actually. |
Spot on! |
| Exactly. Ultimate will be creating some National teams which will be an incentive for girls to stay with Pride in High School |
I’m not arguing, but I’m not sure I understand your logic as to how this would help girls stay with pride in high school? Just curious To be honest, I’m still wouldn’t be worried about stars pulling from Pride in high school. It is Capital you should be concerned with, or am I missing something? |
| Are rosters pretty much set for 8th grade for most of the better MD teams? |
j Yes, but they always look at about 3-5 players to add |
5 is probably a bit of a stretch |
You'd get a better answer on BOTC than DCUM. |
