This is so dumb on so many levels. Does he seriously not realize DOJ had had these tapes for years? And why does he want to protect criminals from law enforcement?

He knows. This is just red meat for the base. Johnson “making liberals cry”😭

If the publicly released videos are blurred, then public trackers cannot help identify people.

I thought it was Antifa and BLM....why wouldn't the GOP want that help?

His Deputy Chief of Communications has "clarified" what he meant (e.g. is trying to cover up the Speaker's gaffe):

After Johnson’s remarks, his deputy chief for communications clarified that the blurring would be done to prevent all forms of retaliation, and that Justice already had access to raw footage.

“Faces are to be blurred from public viewing room footage to prevent all forms of retaliation against private citizens from any non-governmental actors. The Department of Justice already has access to raw footage from January 6, 2021,” Deputy Chief for Communications Raj Shah wrote in a tweet.

The war in Gaza has two opposing viewpoints that both have at least some validity. January 6 does not - if you don't understand it was a criminal insurrection there's something wrong with your brain.

Supreme Court to hear whether obstruction of an official proceeding – 18 USC 1512c – can be used to prosecute January 6 riot defendants who impeded Congress — one of the charges against Trump in the federal 2020 election case.

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols, a Trump appointee, granted defendant Joseph Fischer's pretrial motion to dismiss his obstruction charges, ruling that the statute applied only in cases in which a defendant had taken "some action with respect to a document, record or other object."

Federal prosecutors appealed that ruling to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. A divided three-judge panel on the D.C. Circuit in April reversed Nichols' ruling, saying the statute was not limited to documents and records, but instead "applies to all forms of corrupt obstruction of an official proceeding."

A decade for Worrell. I hope he has time to think about his supplication to Trump and doing better in a decade.

What scandal? Some people walked into a building. That’s it.

The real scandal is democrats hiding the full video for more that 2 years, and deceptively editing portions they then released to the press. The video reveals J6 was (to use the democrats own words), “mostly peaceful.”

Sorry, liar. We all watched that day. We've seen the video. We saw the Cap Hill police being dragged out and beaten. We saw them in secured areas they had no right to be.

FACTS.
