Seriously? She was a mean "comedian" who hit below the belt and exploited other people's misfortunes for cheap laughs (like Lindsay Lohan). She was nothing special.
Well, but, she was special. If you didn't like her humor, fine. But, she broke a lot of glass ceilings. She also, refreshingly, owned who she was. And received as good as she gave in the criticism/make fun department. Not a lot of people can say that.
And, despite her comedy (which many didn't like), many people who actually knew her thought a great deal about her. Nancy Reagan, for one. As well as lots of other people. They actually knew her; you didn't.
