Entertainment and Pop Culture
So you keep saying. You are certifiable, PP. There's no arguing with crazy. They just dig in their heels. |
Toxic or not. It's true. Look at the women in this thread thrashing at Meghan. She's been called a succubus, a witch, a homewrecker, etc. Women are vipers. |
Women's aggression may not take the same form as men's, but girls and women are indeed aggressive, often indirectly and mainly toward one another. They judge harshly, hold grudges, gossip, exclude, and disconnect from other women. It's a good read.

Yeah, but Harry hadn't come up with any workable plan. He still hasn't, really. |
Women enforce culture. Not men. Anyone with sense already knows this. |
It's not true, you (and Bernie) are just ignoring the male equivalent of this. I'm not denying the MM haters here are obscenely toxic -- of course they are -- but they aren't any nastier than a group of sports bros. Do you have any idea what goes on at Barstool Sports if a popular player is accused of domestic violence, for instance? It makes DCUM look like a few party. God, Bernie is such a misogynist jerk. I am wildly anti-Trump, but there are days when I think women would be better with him than Bernie. |
| Oh, it's pretty clear Meghan Markle wants attention. She was an actress, for god's sake! All actors have huge egos. I don't find that a problem per se. I don't care about her running away to Canada, that's fine with me. But the excuses given to defend her are somewhat petulant. She didn't receive any press that was nastier or more unflattering than any other royal has many times over. But she couldn't cope with it. She also didn't want to spend her life doing actual dull charitable things like sponsoring charities and sitting on the boards and doing all the tedious stuff. She just wants to flitter into a room of adoring poor people, have a bunch of photos taken, and then flitter back into her private chauffeured car and have no one criticize the shallowness of it. She wants to control how the press reports her (which is a big clue as to her entitled ego). But I think she's in for a rude surprise. Canada is not a place, methinks, where people warm to the concept of someone playing the grand lady and they have to kiss the ground she walked and not make fun of it. |
| Eh. I said this up-thread but my elderly Canadian mother is thrilled about the idea of them in Canada. |

Am I enjoying the British press leaving the island in masse to follow Meghan to Canada and freezing their bums off while doing so?
You better believe it!

It's Harry who can't cope with it. He saw what it did to his own mother. That you have a blank spot in your brain about this, when he's said it over and over and over and over, is frankly scary. |
Hahah, that's awesome. |
Oh please, no one cares about Harry. This thread is 274 pages long and it's ALL ABOUT THAT AUDACITY OF THAT PRETENTIOUS COLORED GIRL!!! |
Harry wouldn't be moving to Canada if it wasn't for Meghan.... It's not Harry who popped right back on the plane the day after the announcement and refused to see the rest of the royals. Just a FYI. |
I think they are enjoying this too! She loves to be their cash cow, and now they get to milk her harder. |
That's not the British press. That's Kier Simmons. He may be British but he works for an American news program, the Today Show. In other words, he reports for American TV. Not British TV. But I guess that didn't fit your narrative, did it? |
