This!
They are making this unnecessarily complicated.

Leave lees corner at Chantilly. Take area near 28 from Chantilly to Westfield and portion of Bull Run near Virginia Run. Proximity counts. Bull Run has big area and neighborhoods are separate from 9ne another.

Except #1 with changes to Lees Corner isn't an option. The option for #1 is move Crossfield but screw Lees Corner walkers. I don't think we're getting updated scenarios? Are we? Am I wrong on that?

From email yesterday-

"In May, revised scenarios will be presented during a second round of community meetings, which will also be held in person at Skyview and virtually via Zoom"

Honestly I think keeping Lees Corner walkers at Chantilly is a good compromise (and move them to Rocky Run). But if you are already on a bus then you can be bussed elsewhere. Someone has to be moved. I personally thought it should have been more of that area between Westfield and Chantilly, but knew it would be Lees Corner after Reid kept Walney Oaks at Rocky Run and Chantilly at the previous boundary review.

Also, gosh all of these scenarios are terrible with way too many split feeders.

She kept Walney Oaks bc they cried and complained.

Lees Corner will do the same.

Scenario 2 is very similar to Option B. Other scenarios are way too complicated and disruptive.

Scenario 1 is the worst with all of the chopped up ES and so many split feeders.

Hahaha you got punked by the RIO people. They have been pushing for this.

So if we have a Crossfield kid at Carson in 7th grade now, will they have to go to a different school for 8th grade?

Good question. I assume this will be the following year. But, with this leadership, who knows.

Under no scenario would I have imagined moving Crossfield from Carson to Franklin. It is so much less convenient. Even in scenario 1, where they go to Skyview, they have them at Franklin instead of Carson, which is nonsensical, and eliminates one of the benefits of going to Skyview, which would have been that they would be moving with a cohort of friends from middle school.

If Crossfield goes to Skyview, they should ABSOLUTELY stay at Carson. Otherwise, they end up in the same situation as now where all their friends go to a different high school.

The RIO mommies really screwed us over. I hope enough parents revolt to make some changes.

You won't because you were too lazy to advocate for yourselves.

You are such a nasty nasty person. Just because we didn't make a website and a change.org petition does not mean we didn't advocate for ourselves. We absolutely did. We're just not the PTO president. That B is going down.

Just wondering who is it that you are talking about? Is this the rooted in Oakton thing?

For this entire time, Lees Corner was not part of the change. And now at the very last minute they spring this on us? Moving us to a school that's easily a 20-30 minute drive ONE WAY. This is so f-ed up. Our neighborhoods are ready to fight.

So, staying at Oakton is convenient? Not a good argument.

Hilarious for someone to try to argue that they should stay at Carson because it's such a convenient location, but stay at Oakton instead of going to Skyview.

You either get Franklin/Oakton or Carson/Skyview. Pick one.

How many school board members did you personally lobby? How many meetings did you attend? How many times did you speak up at a school board meeting? How often did you follow up with them?

How many community lists do you create or participate in? How many of your neighbors did you get on your side, and get them to speak up and contact their reps? What media sources did you connect with?

This is community organizing 101, lady. A website is just one part of a whole concerted campaign to find like minded people, but its not the only thing you do for a campaign.

As Margaret Mead once said: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

Better watch your smug attitude. You're going to have a lot of people advocating for you to move to Skyview just to spite you.

I am one of the people that tried to tell you all this a while back. I completely agree it's ridiculous. But that Option E that was briefly out showed this. I knew it was going to be there because Reid wants to please the Crossfield b-ches.

I just google mapped westfield to my friends house, who is on the furthest part of Lee's Corner boundary and it said 15 min.

Are options 1 and 3 so ridiculous intentionally to push 2 and/or make it more palatable by comparison??
